Dude its a competative exam..............no-one can predict how much you will score.
regarding 750...........well its equivalent to 99% + in cat and is definately tough to score.......but again there have been people who have done that with just a months preperation and there have been others who could manage a best of 620 in three attempts/
So it depends completely on your caliber and study technique.............I would suggest give an MBA.com mock exam to understand where u stand now, in case you are able to manage a 620+ without preps, i think a 750 is definately on the cards

Dude for the answers to the other 2 questions
ISB R2's last date for applying is Dec 1st so u've gotta give gmat by Nov 25th to be safe...........as you would wanna keep a 1 week gap to avoid any last minute surprises
For Nov 09, u've gotta book u'r date by Oct 09 (i.e. atleast 30 days in advance)
There is generally more rush for weekends.....you might however get weekday slots by booking 14 days in advance.
Thanks & Regards,
- Siddharth

Hi Sachin,
Since I am not a current/prospective student of ISB, I wouldn't want to comment on this, there is already a thread going on for 2010 applicants.
http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/intern...-new-post.html
You could post this query there.
Thanks & Regards,
- Siddharth

Hi Siddharth,
Thank u very much!
Today i went through mock up test of mba.com & scored just 400 without prepration. So I would be able to score 730 or 750 ever? means regarding the capability?
As concern to mathematics, i am confident once i brush up, i would be able to do best. But regarding English i am not confident means how much could i be able to improve?
If possible Can i have ur contact no.?
Thanks & Regards,

Dear SSachindeshmukh,
Don't get bogged down by the score..........atleast you have the experience of one test and will benifit from it during your preperation.
The first thing you should do is get ready to put in a lot of effort. I didnot score a 750 but i managed a 700 and my attitude was like
"its a competative exam and success and failure are both possible but
i'll enjoy every moment of my preperation.......even if i get a few points low it doesnot matter, at the end of my preps i should love doing RC's, CR's and SC's without loosing patience"
Exactly..........treat it like a game which you have to learn to ace!!!!
Concentrate on each and every move without thinking about 730 or 750
don't put un-necessary pressure on u'rself
I would suggest that you prepare for 4 months and concentrate only on building your concepts in the first 2 months without thinking about scores.
I would recommend the following books in the following order
1.> OG
2.> Kaplan Primiere Program
3.> Kaplan 800
Do all the questions sincerely (do not give random tests in between)
Concentrate on your reading (for RC's)
I'll put a seperate post on how I improved my RC-accuracy.
Thanks & Regards,
- Siddharth

Hi All,
When I started my gmat preps, i was very weak in RC's. These are some steps that i followed that helped me improve tremendously...........I am not an expert.......but these steps surely helped
The following websites contian very useful articles for reading practice for RC's.
Science Based (Chem, bio, biochemistry, physics etc)
1. www.firstscience.com
2. www.sciam.com
3. www.sciencedaily.com
Mixed
www.essortment.com
www.quesita.com - Go to library ( This is the best)
Best news papers (Read the editorials and business sections)
The New York Times - Breaking News, World News & Multimedia
BBC NEWS | News Front Page
TIPS from Siddharth Bhaskar :-)
1) Spend about 15- 20 minutes a day reading 2-3 articles.
2) After every paragraph try analysing about the main purpose of the paragraph, the tone/attitude of the author.
3) Keep questioning your mind about hidden ideas (inferences) in every paragraph
4) As you keep reading keep drawing the flow chart of events in your mind
5) Revisit areas of confusion
6) Donot lookup the meanings of unfamiliar words immediately. try finding the meaning from the context and sentance constructions (obviously look up the dictionary once you have finished the reading excercise)
7) You don't have to know about every topic but make sure you are comfortable reading different types of passages. Topics related to biology can sometimes be the easiest. It is just the mind block which you need to remove by practice
Thanks & Regards,
- Siddharth

very well tackled siddarth,
i wud like to add here that for RCs, be mentally prepared to read on any topic ranging from biology to politics and what not.
u'll only be able to do so when ur mind is free of pressure, on my D-day i got 2 RCs sequentially on historical wars, and this was the last topic i would have wanted to see.
now wen u read RCs, first skim thru it and see if u understand its sructure and then make a note of important points along with intro and conclusion, most of the questions are on it only. It is not required to remember data from the RC and ok to refer to it again for data questions.
