Ok frenz - I will make an attempt to capture most of the knowledge imparted to us by Arun, however please feel free to add on to make it exhaustive.
PsychoD my apologies in case anything here is not accurate or not represented in the right light .. please mail me and I ll edit the post accordingly :detective:
So for all GMAT aspirants here it is -
Some common tips :
1. There are no MAGIC formulas for a 700+ score

2. People can guide you, not spoon feed you

3. There are lots of material and coaching available - however
YOU have to find out what suits you the best. ("Dont try to boil the ocean for salt" - Arun)
4. Strategies for different people are different in nature ... so analyse your strength, weakness and target date :xmas:
5. Take as many tests as you can - always helps. Dont save the tests for the last week
Study Material :
OG 10 or OG 11+Math Review+verbal review
Per Arun definitely must have - and will give you a fair idea of GMAT.
Please go through this book in details. :detective:
Manhattan
for SC/CR +RC must have - the concepts are explained and would help the preparation if you start from this book.
Kaplan
Kaplan 800 is a good buy for practicing a lil tougher question.
Princeton Review
Good for the AWA section - other sections might be too easy.
Arco's, GMAT plus, Barrons, etc
Not reccomended
Quant Section-
37 questions - 75 minutes
Generally not a pain area

Recommended that you start by revising the formulae provided in the GMAt prep software and move on to OG - as you move along make a note of the tougher topics or the questions which you get wrong repeatedly.
Spend time in getting the basics right ... move over to Kaplan 800 and practice tests... be active in forums :xmas: ... use (bellcurve.com) and google baba :detective: ... and post all the tricky questions to Arun :new_Llol: and you shall find enlightment
Verbal Section-
41 Questions - 75 minutes
Here comes the devil

SC
Use the OG and Manhattan SC to come up with your set of rules for the SC (should be able appx close to 60% of the total)
Move on to google baba (spidey's notes, Sahil's notes) + online forums (you see a lot of questions - solve and add to your rules) + idioms (cant do much you either know them or dont)
Point to remember - while ruling out the wrong answers spend sometime anlysing the mistakes in the wrong options and add to your lists. Yes you read it right ... learn not only from the right but also from the wrong !!!
CR
Manhattan and Kaplan are good resources to build up your basics and if you have an analytical mind - it will appeal to you... however the tricks of the trade can be picked up from the books. Complete the OG and as always keep an error log handy to analyse.
Online forums, google baba and Arun are definitely there to help you out .
1000CR (LSAT) if you want to venture out further and reach the pinnacle of CR :xmas:
RC
Get used to reading stuff which doesnt interest you .. dont postpone jump on this as soon as you can :xmas: . As explained very nicely by Arun you wont read for interest or for any other reasons you would have probably read before... READ to answer questions
1000 RC, OG and Kaplan are the suggested resources - read a lot of editorials+ business news+ boring stuff ( yes yes I know its a pain - choice is yours)
Point to remember - get used to solving on the computer .. some fellow puys found it easy to solve on pen and paper and had a tough time concentrating on the actual RC in the exam ... (get practice)
We had a lot of discussion on varied topics as expected

.. starting from loan arrangements,b school application, ranking to Arun's personal life

.. however to save teh server space I am not posting it here as all of us have still some time left to reach that stage

....
Last but not the least -
for all you guys who need more guidance, please please PM Arun - he has something in store for all of you starting next weekend ... I can bet its something worth the money (there was a live testimonial by Ratna)...
Once again - THANK YOU Arun (PsychoD) and all the PUY's for turning up..
All the best
p.s. sorry for the long post - tried hard to edit !!!
Cheers,
another pagal guy
