Good initiative Sumit. Once there are sufficient people we can start discussing and can also organize meets so that we are able to share our experience and strategy of cracking the GMAT.

Nice initiative, it will be good to have study groups and study, so when are you planning to take the test and what are the insititutes you are targetting for. We might also look at getting the reco letters ready or rather plan the activities.

i am planning to take GMAT this year. Did not take the date yet.
Just to introduce myself, I am a Software Engineer with 3+ yrs of work ex.
Even i'll be keen to discuss various question related to GMAT prep.
Good to see all of u here.

I have gone thru various forums and found that following books are good to begin with
1. Manhattan for SC
2. Oficial Guide for Verbal
3. Kaplan Premium
4. Kaplan 800

Do let me know ur suggestions abt the same. Also, did any one of u joined a preparation centre ?

Seems we share a similar background...As far as prep material is concerned, I think you should start off with the basic material like:

1. Princeton GMAT book
2. Kaplan book

These books will give u a basic idea how the exam is structured and then U can start off wid the more exhaustive material which consists of:

1. GMAT Official Guide (OG11)
2. 1000 series (1000 SCs, 1000 CRs)
3. Manhattan books

Do let us know about pointers to webpages which suggest a different approach.
