Hi,

I have 2 years of work ex in an IT company.I am planning to write GMAT this year but i am too confused to decide on the date. I have not started the preparation yet and have a very poor knowledge about Gmat.
Could someone plz tell me how much time and devotion is required to get a good score in gmat.
Also, what is the right time to write Gmat if we want to apply for next year Aug session??

Hey you have sufficient work ex, though if you want some more exp u can work for some more time...Most universities have their deadline till Mar end...So you can plan your GMAT date accordingly..If you are planning to study on your own you better look at the scope of syllabus and take your time in deciding how long will it require for you to study...Better give a visit to mba.com for more info on GMAT. It has detailed description of the syllabus and since you are planning to take the GMAT nothing better than the Official guide. you can buy that and start solving. You can also refer some other threads on this forum to check the other books that are available..But better start with the official guide.

Hey if March is the deadline for most of the colleges then i think Nov would not be 2 late 2 appear for GMAT. But i have heard the early u apply more are the chances of u getting scholarships if ne. IS IT?

Re: Gmat Prep and aspirants At Pune - 30-07-2008, 08:52 PM

Hi,

I m a returning NRI and want to get thru to a nice B-school in India....one that takes GMAT scores as i think i m too late to prepare for CAT. I have about 10 years of exp under my belt and am in quite an academic pickle actually. I completed my 2nd year B.Com in 1997 and went abroad for work.Have just come back to India and will appear for my graduation exam in Apr 2009. In this case my exp is 10 years but before graduation.

Question: Do B-schools like Great Lakes, ISB ,SPJain etc accept this work ex?Also I plan on taking the GMAT in Nov. Haven't started preparing yet. Is is possible to prepare in such a short span of time. What are the best coaching centres available in Pune? Any advice will be appreciated since you guys know the Indian academic scene much better than I do ....Which courses or B-Schools would you recomed for my profile??Am looking for a 1year course. (I was Head of Marketing for the firm I worked with)

Hi ,

Thank you all for sharing loads of information for MBA aspirants.

I am planning to appear for Gmat in the month of October. I though of checking the Forum for study partners who are appearing for the exam around that time. Earlier I gave CAT (88.7 percentile) but could not make a significant impact . Now that I am going for GMAT , I thought if I can get some guidance from you guys.

I just started working on the Course material , but would require extra motivation from you guys to make this ship reach the shore .

By the way i have 4+ years of experience in IT industry. And currently working with an MNC.

Thanks ,
Shiva
