According to me , Princeton Review is the best , secondly IMS and then TIME.. but you check there fees , its 28000, 25000 and 12000/- For me I am joining classes just to keep motivated myself for study . I am not expecting a lot from classess study .. so I am joining TIME.. you can choose as per your requirement .. If you would like to go for TIME.. then come 2mrw at 6 pm at TIME,Dadar.. new batch is going to start from 14th June..

and what books to refer for gmat | Hi ankur,
I was actually caught up with some work,so not able to reply on time.So I will now answer your queries.
1.This forum is created for people taking exams in July &August'08,thats what i mean by the title of the forum. So most of these guys must have started around Jan'08 and by now will be in the revision mode,Bcos if you need good score you have to put atleast 3 months of dedicated study pattern(Rare cases of 1 month still there).
2.There are many forums in PG where people discuss about study materials to college admissions without any time frame. So there it will be a rolling process where a thread started as old as 2006 is still in running mode.
3.Regarding books to refer to
Kaplan 800
OG 11
OG-Quants
OG-Verbal
Manhattan Series
Princeton
4.I never wanted to hurt anyone, but why i mostly ask everyone to go through the forum is mainly bcos i myself have benifitted immensely from PG,as i have spent going through all those pages,Since mutiple views will help you to arrive @ consensus. For example: someone might say start from Kaplan 800,but 10 more people might have advised earlier that it is too difficult @ beginner level. So you can now get a view about the books.
5.Gmat can be taken @ any part of the year, but when you do the research you will come to know July/August is the best season to do if you plan for Fall Next year.Because after yor score,if have to go through all those application&other stuffs,so to land in US next fall(which is the best time),July/august is the most preferred.
Hope I was able to answer your queries. Vengai

Can anyone suggest a good budget Hotel to stay near the JB road, Mumbai center for GMAT? Something around Rs. 1000 per night would be great.
From wikimapia, I could see that the center is close to the Airport. However, all the star rated hotels like Leela, ITC are way out of my budget. So, something around 10 minutes drive from the Solitaire park would also do.
Thanks in advance. | | | | | | | |

Hi Pugs,
Haven't seen much happening on this thread, i am sure there are many Mumbaiites and others preparing for GMAT. Lets share our ideas, plans and strategy to try and help each other to 'BEAT THIS GMAT BEAST'.
I am Nikhil and my D-Day is 8th Sept, yes thats 72 days from today and counting.
I started with my GMAT prepartion a month ago with Princeton and i not regretting my choice. Princeton is a very good book for starters and for people like me who are getting back to maths and verbal after a gap. After completing almost 80% of princeton i moved to Kaplan, and i started with RC of all the topics in Kaplan. I will tell you guys, RC here is mind boggling. It takes you on its own trip and the worse part is at the end it is difficult to undertand the structure of the passage in one reading. I knew i was doing something wrong or something before its time.
I came to these blessed forums and all the experts out here were of the opinion that Kaplan is more on the tougher side for doing verbal. For now i have given up doing RC from Kaplan and moved onto PS and DS. I am planning to give my Gmat Prep 1 on 1st July, thats exactly one month of preparation just to get a feel of where i am and which areas i should work on more. Will for sure share my scores here for people to comment on.
Strategy wise i have kept July for OG11 in depth. After completing OG i will come back to Kaplan and give the Kaplan tests. And take it from there.
Now on I will try and be an active member of this thread so that i can share my plans and hope to get few pointers where i can improve.
ATB to all the pugs appearing in the future. Cheers !! NiDo. "ThOsE wHo DoN't TaKe RiSkS, aCtUaLlY rIsK mOrE"

Need ur valuable suggestions... to choose the best tutoring class... | Hi ,
I have joined TIME three weeks back ( only Tutoring - fees 12000/- ) . According to me , its worth to join TIME, their teachers are good , two - three teachers for same topic ( QAT , CRs, RCs etc ) so you get different views for the same topic. Their study materials are too good and most difficult one, if you could crack it , you would definitely crack GMAT.
Its going good so far with TIME
I am not sure about others.

Hi puys,
Im Rohan and have taken a GMAT date of 8th October 2008.
Someone who has a similar date and plans to study together or is joining any classes within the next week could please let me know.
I stay at Tardeo in South Mumbai and wanted to especially know if someone conducts classes which have small batch intakes of 4-5 per batch and is located somewhere in south Mumbai. Also, any private tutor would do who comes home.
Anyone interested in studying together can also let me know through this thread or by sending me a PM.
Cheers,
Rohan | | | | | | | |
