Although you might be expecting a better score but you have very bright chances with a 700. And as someone said its not the end of the journey, its just the start, so I think you should just stop worrying about this and start preparing for your application process in full throttle if you are thinking of applying this season.

It will be great for puys like us to know as how you felt about the real GMAT exam.

All the best for the apping season!

Nikdo/Dopa .... As far as I feel, I got way different score on the real GMAT when compared to GMATPrep or MGMAT.
GMATPrep - 720 and 740
MGMAT - 680,680, 690, 700, 710, 740

As I told, I dont know if it was the absence of sleep that brought in any reduction in mental power or any real tough qs. For me verbal was tougher than the GMATPrep, and ended up scoring 36 [vs 41 in GMATprep]. I got 70% of RC questions on those indirect ones..like the assumption, stupid author's feelings, 1st para structure N all..Maybe my selection was not right.
Also CR was on tougher side, something like you have to go in a realistic fashion outside the scope or boundary of the passage. The problem here is that you are not really able to decide how far you should assume or go out of scope
And man...those SC's were real long passages. I just got one SC which was within two lines. The rest all were 2-3-4 lines. It was testing literally all the SC concepts.....

I have read people posting the GMAT was equivalent to GMATprep or easier N all....Towards end I guess what it matters equally along with your preparation is your luck and presence of mind.

Well I am thinking of taking it again...being an IT engg, my chance with 700 are bleak...and am also so lucky to have no particularly gr8 achievements...

congrats lokguru!!
700 is not a bad score at all n as dopa put it, its the dream of many aspirants. anyways i wud like to knw about PS section since u had not mentioned anything abt it. was quants closer to kaplan? OG ques seem to be too easy n i can find good ques posted on this forum only n GMATprep's 2 simulated tests is not enough for practice.

thanks

Heyy Thanks !! I know 700 is not like a bad score N all...just that I was expecting more .. For PS, it was almost of the same level as GMATPrep, though I got some 2-3 tough qs. I used to score around 49-51 in GMATPrep. I guess Kaplan Quant doesn't give a real picture of GMAT quant. I felt Kaplan quant either to be easier on the GMAT-type of qs or too hard [with large calculations] to come on a real GMAT.
Yeah, qs posted in the forum should be good. I really didn't put much effort for quant. If you are able to crack the GMATPrep quant [take a min of 4 tests - 2 tests after re-install] then you should be good.

Gave gmatprep1 last week and scored 700(Q49, V35). My GMAT date is 28sep. so still 10 days to go to improve upon my score.

Lokguru and other expert puys please give your valuable inputs so as to what preparation strategy I should adopt in the last 10 days as I have finished most of material like OG, kaplan and princeton.

Cheers!!!

here are the details: Scholarships, Full Time Post Graduate Programme in Management - Indian School of Business (ISB) or www.csqrl.com

Jathero...I guess u need to put more effort on ur verbal part. Probably you need to start giving mock tests [Kap?]. See as to why you are making mistakes in verbal and try your level best to zero-in [though nt possible, still you will reduce your error %]. Revise the SC concepts ...

Hi
Need some help in Verbal....
Gave my Princeton test 1...got a dismal score of 550 Q37, V28. Quant was silly mistakes. But verbal, I am unable to understand how do I improve my SC and CR. CR is miserable. More than 60% of CR was mistake.

Please help
