hi all i had 3yrs of work exp planning to give GMAT in aug....i have started prep 2weeks back but didnt get rhythm to move further. the prep is goin very slow...

i am working in blore so if anyone is interested in discussing we can form a group and we can revise our prep every week.....if anyone hs already formed a group for GMAT prep pls PM me the no. so that i too can come n join with you guys....if no grp has been there then whoever interested we can form a grp and start our prep.....

Hi All,

I have some basic doubts about GMAT and getting into ISB.

1. What is the best time(may be the latest ) to give GMAT if I need to apply for the first batch of admissions for ISB 2009-2010?

2. If I take my GMAT on Aug 1st week, can I apply for the first batch in ISB, provided I have the required credentials?

3. Do I need to have a GMAT score ready before applying to ISB or can I give my GMAT even after filling in my application form online?

4. Does the admission essays come along with the online application form and how many days we will get to complete this essays once the application process starts?

5. What is this concept of two batch of admissions? I heard if we apply for 1st batch the chances of getting in are more. Could anyone make this more clear?

6. When do we need to submit the recommendation letters and stuff?

Sorry for troubling all with these silly doubts of mine. I will be really thankful if some one could help me out with the answers.

Hey all

I finally took the GMAT today in delhi.
I scored 39 on verbal, 50 on quant. Total score is 730.

I have an excellent academic record (topper from DCE) and have a 2 years experience with microsoft. Can someone advice on my chances of getting into one of the following top BSchools

ISB, Stanford, Stern, Harvard, Kelloggs and few other top ones.


Or is it worthwhile to retake the GMAT to reach something like 750.

Congrats JOE bhai....730 is a great score .
Though I am not an authority on this, I do not think that retaking GMAT and taking your score upto 760 would increase your chances manifold.
You have an appreciable profile (Great college, Amazing GPA and apparently a good work-ex). I'd suggest spend this crucial time on your essays rather than gaining an additional 20-30 points.
Congrats once again and best of luck for weathering the infamous Apping process .
