Hi Guys,
Is the Kaplan guide any different from the Princeton Review:Cracking the GMAT 2008?
Ive finished the latter and wondering whether i should spend time on the Kaplan guide or start with the OG and Kaplan 800 instead?

Thanks for the info!

Cheeers,
Aby

since my last post i've just managed to do 2 chapters sometimes the job just kills u!!! anyway guys we're all in this together n can crack it!!! lots of hot coffee n regular study....for instance i've slotted 9.30-11.30 pm daily for studying....thats the only time i can manage on week-days...n guys, dont ignore week-ends....for working ppl, week-ends are all we have!! i've got saturdays as half days...
see, as far as the list of books are reqd, i think u should start with princeton review, move on to kaplan premier program, kaplan math/english review and then finally OG.
right now, i'm on stage zero. as my math needs brushing up, i'm doing the basic math chs from a math book first. then i'll move on to princeton.
till april 10th, i've given myself time to cover the basic math chs.
take care guys n lets all motivate each other.

Re: GMAT takers JUL/AUG 2008 - 28-03-2008, 05:25 AM

Lots of activities here.......
Lots of ppl planning for JUL/AUG...

I took my GMAT prep 1, 3 days before ... with no prep... I got some ... 540 ...

Q46 V20.. Quant managed to finish in time....

Verbal --took 1 break (For some urgent office call... ) but could attempt 33/41 in time.. rest all guess work.........

My score breaks are here....... (For the one which I attempted)

CR : 4/7 , SC:5/12 and RC:4/14 were WRONG ... Cool rite.. Felt serously like hitting myself... Any ways its just a beginning...
Next strategy: Improve CR... Started with Kaplan.. (Kaplan verbal work book)...

Any guidelines to improve my verbal!
I'm not too worried abt Quants... from 46 I want to reach 49 and Verbal from 20 I want to reach 42.... Just to cross 700 mark .........

For those who have not yet taken GMAT prep 1, Just do it guys... It helps to know how much prep is required.........

Re: GMAT takers JUL/AUG 2008 - 28-03-2008, 12:45 PM

Guys,

I am planning to write GMAT somewhere near June end or July beginning.

I took GMAT Prep Practice 1 and scored 640. (Q49, V29) I realized that I am weak in SC and CR. So, I started with Manhattan SC first. It is definitely a good book.

Am planning to start with Kaplan Premier and OG (side by side) once I finish SC. I hope that would boost my confidence.

As for Quants, I am sure I can cover once my verbal is up to the mark.

Any suggestions on improvement are most welcome.

i'm going over 'math for MBA' by R.S aggarwal. using it since it was lying in the house( cousin who appeared for CAT used it)....its definitely not the best of books, so dont go out buying this one. the idea is to just familiarize yourself with the chapters/formulae from any math book. i would be then starting with princeton on april 11.
check out if u can get any 2nd hand math book to just go over initially.

take care
