GMAT takers JUL/AUG 2008

i am planning to take GMAT in july... this yr CAT ended up wid 97.2 percentile but only 66 in verbal. so have to look for GMAT in july 2008..
i have some questions which i really wish someone cud help by answering.

1. as of now i hv just 9 months work ex in a leadin automobile company in bangalore.. so writing GMAT in july 2008 and applying for 2009 summers(when i will hv 2 yr work ex). will that be sufficient for applying in top b schools in US/EUROPE.

2. i want to major in operations or Supply chain management so can i write GRE and yet apply in some schools for a MBA or MS degree in operations. i am confused cos GMAT is always costly and tougher compared to GRE.

3. Wat are the materials i shud take for prep.?

4. which are some top b schools wich can offer me admision for operations wid exp less that 2 yrs.

5. Is GRE score accepted for MBA or MS in operations in any top 20 b schools in US or europe

I have following doubts.Someone Please Clarify them:

1.I do not have a laptop at home so how will that hamper my preparations and my chances of success considering we have to give the exam on PC.I do have access to PC at my workplace but i can use that PC only on Weekends.

2.I want to give the exam by July Mid 2008 So will i be eligible to apply for Spring Admissions in 2009.Is there any site which covers the Dealines of all major B-Schools?

3.If i give GMAT twice or thrice will my Latest Score or Average of all Scores or Score which i Prefer to send will be Counted by B-Schools?

4.How long do the scores remain valid.I think it is 2-3 years but do B-Schools have any issues if students submit score of 2006 for 2008 Admits?Do Some Schools prefer scores of Current Year only?

You only need a laptop when you are taking a mock test or are reading one of the hazaar materials available online. If you are buying books then you dont need it so much. That only leavs participation in forums which i suppose you get to do from office.

Yes you will be eligible for Class on 2011. Classes begin in August. SMS START GMAT to 09845398453 to get deadline notifications on your mobile.

ALL your scores will be sent to the college. The college is most likely to look at the highest score. Though if you re-taking so many times, leave some gap between them.

Scores are valid for 2-3yrs at most. Beyond that you will be asked to re-take.

You are not a newbie yet you've asked Qs answers to which can be found by simply reading this thread.

Hi me again

well me too very new to this whole posting session of pg. Nw i am from pune so i will be glad to take the help of the 770 guru. I am also like most of others pretty new to gmat and plan to take it in jun mostly.

I will probably also start off with the diagnostic test. However ppl i hear it doesn't make sense to just take any diagnostic test. Like crack gmat and all. go for gmat prep and then plan your study schedule.

On making an online research about GMAT n MBA Entrance exams i got through this site n found it to be highly informational.I have joined many sites n contacted many guys to get ensured about the GMAT preparing institutes and informations related to admissions.But every time i got perplexed by many conflicting situations or statements .N hve still not escaped from that.I want to take admission abroad in this coming winter (i.e in Jan'2009)....As for me I work in an IT company in Gurgaon with an experience of 10 months now.And 'll INSHAALLAH b having a regular working exp of 1yrs n 8 months till the end of Jan'2009.
kindly tell me could i b eligible 4 taking admission into universities where work exp required is 2 years though i'll b only having an exp of 1 yr n 8 months till Jan'2008.

hey are u still workin in pune!! yes i read ur blog/site yesterday.. thanks u have done a fab job.. i am plannin on the gmat in june.. i will be on a two week holiday can u tell me exactly how much time does one need approx to study for a good gmat score.. i know this is very subjective..

its not i will be startin for scratch i have been studyin for cat and its allies for the past six seven months..
