You only need a laptop when you are taking a mock test or are reading one of the hazaar materials available online. If you are buying books then you dont need it so much. That only leavs participation in forums which i suppose you get to do from office.

ALL your scores will be sent to the college. The college is most likely to look at the highest score. Though if you re-taking so many times, leave some gap between them.

Scores are valid for 2-3yrs at most. Beyond that you will be asked to re-take.
