hi Puys,
My profile is :
GMAT : 710
AWA : 5.5
BE : First Class (Overall)
Presently working at SYNTEL INC., an IT FIRM (to add to my woes!!), will be having 2 yr work ex by june/july '09..
I am thinking of giving my GMAT again to beter my score..but if i do not retake my GMAT, cud u guys plz help me out wid a few schools that have favourable conditions for ppl wid a relatively less work ex such as mine...i could use tht as a starting point and concentrate my research thereon...i do not expect to get a bang-on-target reply but even a probable option could help me get started...
i knw the admission is not just based on the GMAT score but also on SOPS/RECOS etc...i will gather more data on those stuffs once u puys are able to get me started...plz suggest..
p.s. : mods, kindly tell me how to delete the signature image frm my profile cuz i am not able to locate any button for doing the same...or if possible you can delete it yourself..thanks and sorry...

@ajay
I think 710 is a decent score. I myself was in the same boat. I had a 710 and 2 yrs of work ex. The schools I applied to were:
Cornell - Ding after interview
CMU - Ding
UNC - Admit
UT Austin - Interview then withdrew
Georgetown - --"----
Vanderbilt - admit with 30k schol
Thudnerbird - admit with $50k schol.
most of these schools encourage younger applicants. Other schools you can consider are Rochester Simon, UCLA, Harvard.
hope this helps.... Anshul UNC Kenan-Flagler Class of 2010

@ajay,
ok harvard would be a stretch school, but you can def try UCLA... dont underestimate yourself. You sell yourself good enough, and then who knows..!!
@sillyfool
Those might seem like stretch schools, but i wouldnt put it as "Waste of money". one more Q, you meant GSB Chicago right? I feel you have a realistic chance at chicago.
As I said before, sell yourself well enough and anything can happen. As of now, work on strengthening your profile. Try to work on differentiate yourself from other candidates. Tell me a little more about what kind of work ex you have had and your post mba goals and I will be able help you better.
hope this helps. Anshul UNC Kenan-Flagler Class of 2010

ok so it doesn't apply to him, but yeah, HBS does take ppl with 2yrs work-ex or less. It all depends on the profile/story you present to them. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Neo2000 For This Useful Post: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
