Does higher GMAT score translate into better managers or leaders? - 12-10-2007, 02:07 PM

Whats the general opinion about higher scores in entrance exams like GMAT or CAT? Do people scoring very high marks in GMAT make better leaders in the industry?

NO, the GMAT is like CAT. it gets you into the radar of the college but that's all it does. Might even help with amount of scholarship/loan awarded but that's about it.

Locked.

I think he was talking about whether people scoring very high marks in GMAT make better leaders in the industry?

Don't think he was talking about colleges or admissions or applications per se..

Does scoring well in the CAT make you a better manager?

My answer highlighted what the GMAT can do/does for you. As with all competitive tests, it is in no way an indicator of your potential as a manager.

I'm sure your CAT experience would have showed you that :-p

I guarantee i speak for the greater/well-researched community when I present that view on GMAT score. The score plays no role in how you pan out as a manager. Its not even that important a part of your application(except when it comes to loan) A little more research would show that :-)
