the GMAT review will cost u somewhere between 1 to 1.3 k.....Kaplan's also needed.. that wud cost u between 800-900 bucks.....also get the princeton's review on Cracking the GMAT ..that will cost 300-400 bucks...these books are available in any book shop.
with my own experience, i shud say that u can manage to crack GMAT without a coaching/training.....the test is all about endurance.....do get a PC first.....the tips in Kaplan really works...first, u master the GMAT review and then go thru Kaplan later...or u can do it simultaneously.

Hi Ravi,

You could check at Gangarams in Bangalore...that's where I got my Kaplan from (but that was almost a year ago, don't know if you still get it there). Alternately, you could try the online bookstores like fabmart or firstandsecond. firstandsecond usually stocks some of the GRE/GMAT books and so you should be able to get them quicker (I remember getting OGR from firstandsecond in 4 days or so).

Regards,
Mansur

Re: GMAT Study Material - 23-05-2004, 02:15 PM

hey guys, i've bought the princeton review - inside the GMAT cd from walden, hyderabad. But after i came back i realised that its an old one - it is a 1999 edition...and now i dont have the patience to go and give it back - so, is there any change in the type of questions asked since 1999?? does it have the same pattern?? can i use that cd for my prep??

I can't comment about that CD in particular, but I would suggest that you avoid old material as far as possible. The GMAT has become a lot tougher over the last 2 years or so, with the ETS attempting to compensate for the ever higher-scoring Indians and Chinese . Although things like the pattern etc. may not have changed, the standard definitely has, and prepping on very easy material is not really all that useful.
