Hi, Is GMATPrep score a good indicator of actual GMAT score? I got several questions on the test which i had seen before on OG , did that happen to anyone else? Is gmatprep, with all the repetitions, still a good indicator?

Yep.. can vouch for the fact that GMATPrep is the most accurate indicator out there with regards to both the score and the type of questions you are likely to see on the actual test.
How do i know, you ask ??
I just gave the GMAT today... managed a mere 680

my score also lingers around that .Two questions
1. Can Kaplan Gmat 800 book help in raising my score?
2. I get some repeat questions, so does that mean my actual score will be lower than the GMATPrep Score?

Thanks P.S. I have posted my GMAT Prepration on posts# 15,16,17 My D-Day Experience on Post # 19 | Hi Ankush,
Thanks for posting your preparation schedule. I gave the GMAT last year. Got a 690 (33 verbal, 50 Quant, 4.5 AWA). Did not have much of a clue on how to prepare. New to PG and Wasn't very regular on PG. So could not pick much help from here. Vague idea about US Colleges. My preparation material - Barron's (True )
Did not think 690 was "My Best". So decided to give it again. Currently planning to take it in July end. Working in the US for the past 2 years. Trying to schedule a vacation home to India and use those holidays for studies.
Current experience - 5.5 yrs. NIT Calicut passout.
What I would like to know from you is once I give my exam in July/Aug, will I have sufficient time for applications/essays/admissions. I am targeting Indian schools(ISB, IIMPGPEX) and US Schools. Please advise.
P.S: I believe IIM Calcutta deadline is July 31st and SP Jain Mumbai is already over. Arthur: You know,it's at times like this, when I'm trapped in a Vogon airlock with a man from Betelgeuse, and about to die of asphyxication in deep space that I really wish I'd listened to what my mother told me when I was young.
Ford Prefect: Why, what did she tell you?
Arthur: I don't know, I didn't listen

as fer your second question, well.... if you do get some repeat questions, it would be wiser to assume you got a lower score.. unless of course, you got those questions right the first time you saw 'em !
here's a tip... use GMATPrep as much as you can... reinstall it as many times as possible and run through the entire lot of questions that they have... That's one MAJOR mistake i made in my prep.... I kept the GMATPrep CATs for the end and consequently dint have much time to work on my mistakes...
boo hooo.... :'( | | | | | | | |
in a hurry!!!!
