here are my scores
kaplan CAT-2

Score - 590
quant- 28 correct 9 wrong scaled score- 42

Verbal- 22 correct 19 wrong scaled score - 29 SC accuracy was around 60% n CR more than that however RC i guess CD shows less than 40%

PS i have accuracy of more than 80% but DS of 60%

No i have not yet started with Manhattan SC. n hey can u tell how make an error log.. I mean do i need to note down all ques that i did wrong. Right now I m justing making notes of idioms or points i miss in answering ques


M really at loss now i thought of at least crossing 600 but ..

not to worry.....i also performed badly in RC in first 2 tests, i think in one of those tests my accuracy was less tat 50%. these tests are known to be hard....just try to concentrate more while doing RC...

Also you can just start with Manhattan SC if you have problems in SC

Error log - you are mantaining it in a correct way, but do revise that log you are mantaining after every 3-4 days. I mantained an error log during my prep but i really read it. so dont do my mistake...

Also, now do some practice before giving next test.....ALso have you completed OG, if not, do it first and complete it.....its the best book and you will improve a lot after doing it.

hmm, OG verbal review is a good book. Also do analze questions which you are doing. Dont rush through them. Analze all questions irrespective of whether you did them right or wrong.

can u tell what are the colleges u are applying to...

I m in fix whether i shd make a list of MIS only or include MBA colleges too.. m not aware anything about MBA coll properly..can u throw some light on this too please

To get an initial knowledge about the MBA schools, you can get hold of some rankings.

go to businessweek.com and search for B school rankings. From there you can get a rough idea about various b schools. You may need a subsciption to access rankings though, i am not sure. Actually i have the subscription so never tried seeing rankings without logging in.

The best source of information about the schools is the school website itself, so once you have an idea about various MBA schools , just visit the websites of schools you like and research more....


believe me its a long process and it takes time, but you will have to do it yourself to know the things better.

yeah is it wise to approach any consultancy for this..
actually one more thing is there by fall 2008 I will have an experience f 2 yrs only..so what chances m left with MBA ..what are ur suggestion reg MIS..thanx yaar..m troubling u more than anyone here it seems..n all the best for ur apping..

No dude, no consultancy, no friends can do it for you....its you who will have to do it for yourself.....its you who have to do an MBA, its your future and how can you give a consultancy to decide on your future......
If you are really interested in doing MBA, i believe you will be equally interested in searching about it, so there is no question f taking help......just do the research and i am sure you will enjoy it....there's lots of information out there.....

MIS or MBA its your choice dude, it depends on what and where you want to be in future, so you will havve to take that decision.
Yeah with 2 years of workex its tough to get into a top MBA program but people still get in, you need to have will to do it.......but take a call on the basis of your interests, you would not wwant to do something in which you are not interested in after spending so much of money....

Thanks yaar it means a lot to me...panga yahi hai that i m also giving CAT..isliye m going thru serious time crunch...waise indirectly both exams are helping each other in sense quants of CAT is coming help for GMAt n english is helping for CAT..so simultaneously i m able to prepare..my mock scores has also gone up as i was doing pretty bad earlier..
par yaar after giving exams i wont b left with much time to apply..ab tum hi batao what can i do..its not that i lack of seriousness from my part...i have given up sleep n everything jst i wanna c myself as manager ..i dont wanna attempt again next yr..for me there is no next time...this time only whatever is there i can do..as there are many personal things on my side ...

I just hope to make it.. I have been gathering information n other things from various forums regularly but i dont knw if after taking GMAT( 28th NOv) i will have enough time to get other thing done...

hey, if you are giving CAT, i will suggest concentrate on that right now and give GMAT after that....dont ride in 2 boats man...believe me both exams require their own temprament and require one to concentrate on their prep.....
If you dont make it thru CAT this year, then maybe you can try with GMAT next year, because anyways by the time you will be over with GMAT this year, it will be too late for you to apply..

take it from me, it takes a lot of time to apply to B schools, GMAT involves not even half the effort ....so concentrate in one thing right now.
