GMAT preparation Help needed

Hi All

I am planning to take up GMAT exams soon. So I need details whether its necessary to take the GMAT courses provided by princeton, chopras or can I do it by myself.
Is there any alternative for this ?

it would be helpful if someone could guide me on this.
