I am also preparing for GMAt while working. i started prep in early june but then had to go for some official work for 15 days. When i came back , i started with OG and finsihed it. I mean i started it arond 20th June and then finished it around 5th july. I started doing some extra materials also. My accuracy was between 85-90% in both RC and CR but 81% in SC in entire OG which i know is pretty low. But i think i am improving. But since last 2 weeks again there was a lot of work and i couldn't devote time for GMAT and just gave one kaplan test in last 2 weeks, nothing else. I will be able to start with my prep only after 16 August now as there is lot of work pressure at office till then. But i will be taking leave from 19th to 27th August and after that also i think work pressure will be little less. So i plan to give GMAT by September 15 now. Can you advise what material should i do and how shold i go about with my prep now. I really need to score above 750.
Please help me out.
btw, i read somewhere in the forum that ur articles got printed in Chandigarh Tribune. Do u belong to chd?
thanks

OK, let me clear up the Chandigarh Tribune part first :-)
I posted my profile in this forum and I mentioned that I had been a very active Choreographer during my MCA days from TIET Patiala. A kind gentleman called "Masala Dosa" said that my Choreo point was B***S*** and advised me not to make a joke of myself, and not to apply to Harvard with my 'C***' profile, but donate the money to feed the poor. Very altruist chap.
I replied to that, that my choreos were written about in the Chandigarh Tribune, where the journalist said that it was surprising that 'mere students' had managed to put up such an 'extravaganza'. That's it... later on I editied my post to remove that bit, because I decided his evaluation didn't really merit a reply.
And now that we have this bit out of the way, lets get down to stuff that realy counts :-)
I faced quite a bit of problem in my SCs too. I then analysed what were the root causes of the problems. My Achille's Heel was Idioms and Pronoun Reference. Can you analyse and tell me once which are your problem areas? Then I'll see if I can do anything to help there.
I think as far as material goes, you've covered all bases (Kaplan and OG11 + IMS quant were all I did). Use your last few days before the exam to build up speed. Speed is something that is (in my petty opinion) built up quickly, and lost quickly. So the last 10 days will count as far as speed goes. It would be better if you took the last 15 days off, rather than time off 'midway' to prepare. But then, that's just my opinion... I'm only saying this because it worked for me.
I don't think there is really much I can say about your Prep at this stage. As far as I can see, you seem to be doing everything right (do let me know the root cause analysis for your SCs though), and diong things pretty systematically.
And as for work, don't worry.... I took the last 15 days off, but the 15 days before that, I didn't get any time at all to study, and my scores dropped dramatically. But then, with a bit of practice, they turned out OK :-) So I really don't think you have anything to worry about.
Anything else, just let me know
