Hi Harsh,
I agree with Ankush....
Before you give the CATs on the Kaplan CD, time and pace yourself with the section tests on the CD. These small tests will gear you up for the full length ones, since they really help you pace yourself. This is because depending upon the section type, there are more or less questions per set. Ex, SC which people can do faster, has 22 questions to a set, whereas CR, which takes more time, has 16. So it'll really help you build up speed and pace yourself.
As for overlap, well.. ha ha... the Kaplan tests are so damn tough, the last thing you'll be thinking of is whether you've seen the question before, and even if you have (I got that 'familiar' feeling plenty of times), they'll have picked such a tough one, that if you did it wrong the first time, you might just do it wrong again... and on top of that, they'll scale down your score and give you such a low number, that you'll be hyperventillating for the next two days.
The last thing you need to worry about on the Kaplan tests is 'inflated score'
What you do need to worry about, are a Deflated Score, a Deflated Ego, and a Deflated Confidence.
That's when you come back to PGuy again, and we boost your morale

Kaplan CD's are available with the Kaplan book( if u get it new from the market, actually Kaplan is available with/without CD's so go for with CD)....else u have to borrow it from someone who is already done with the GMAT..

Hi Ankush,
Thanks for the information. I have bought kaplan 800 but the book didn't have the CD with it. I asked the Guy in the Book store he told that the book comes without CD.
Could you please tell me which kaplan book comes with CD..

The Premier Edition is worth buying anyway though... both for it's content as well as the CD tests

OK Chango,
What I'm going to try and do here is try and put things in perspective....
Fine, you didn't cross the 750. Big deal. All of us who did, don't have brains any better than you... due to a host of factors, or question combinations, we just hit a few more correct answers.
That's all.
The important thing is, you did cross the 'hygiene' factor score. Once you've put yourself accross the 90%, you're already among the best. Now what starts counting is the rest of your applications.
Sure, a 750+ is great to feel good about for a few days, but when you see the application questions, you realise that the schools are looking for a lot more depth than a +- 20 points on the GMAT.
You're scores are just a part of you... they're not you. YOU are you... and that's what the B-school wants to see... not a numeric value. I was looking thru the Wharton site, and the dean started his address by saying... "this year we rejected all the 800 scorers".. Well!!!
Given that, I do feel you should give the best a shot... and as for sure, who's sure??? No one, as far as I can see!! Some people get accepted into one of the top, waitlisted in another, and rejected at a third... I think it has more to do with the passion that the person put into the respective essays than anything else. Go and give it your best shot is my advice. 720 is a VERY respectable score.

Believe me, your saying this is MUCH more important than any rating... I'm so happy to be of help, and to know that I really did, and do help, even if it is in a very small way. You've just made me feel like I earned 7 stars!!! You just made my day!!!
Thank you...!!
