i made bunch of stupid mistakes, hopefully will do better tomorrow on my second GMATPrep test and on monday at the actual gmat.
keya: some things i noticed was that verbal was somewhat easier than kaplan, it had 4 RC passages instead of 3. but they were more clear.
math part was a little tricky, not necessarily easier or harder than kaplan, but just "different". i made some stupid errors, hence scored a disapoointing 47 (was scoring 50 on kaplan cat).
but overall it was a good experience, definetely keep me updated on your kaplan cat's and/or GMATPrep tests.
good luck

Hi Kunal,
Thanks for the morale boost.... I truly truly hope you are right :-) I AM aiming above 750, and that is why the scores were scaring me.
Should also mention that I have a print out of your scores (Kaplan and GMAT).... and have been praying for scores like yours :-)
I gave my first GMATPrep CAT today... and panicked again..... But the score was a bit more than I expected with my dismal performance. (I know you got a 780 on this)
I got 720 Q49 V38. If I hadn't panicked I could have pushed it up to Q50 V43 which would have put me accross the 750 barrier.
You're right, the idea is NOT to sweat.... Lay on the Fa !!! ;-) ;-)
But seriously Kunal, I'd like your advice in something. Today, I totally messed up my SCs in the Prep Test. And it's not like I am bad at it... in the OG, I had an accuracy rate of about 90%.... today, it was not even 10%!!!!! Either it was because I panicked... or.. or I don't know. But can you think of anything I can do in this eleventh hour??
I am planning to go through my SC notes again...
One more thing... and this is out to all the people on this forum... there are no explanations to the GMATPrep questions. Can anyone help if I post those questions here... I'm on firefighting mode, and would really appreciate any help that I can get.
I'm monitoring this post real time, so I'll be able to read the responses as soon as you guys post them.... please help!!!
Thanks!!

Hi,
I just did Kaplan Test 1 right now, and it sure doesnt boost your morale much.
Got a (below ? ) avg 670 : Q41 / V 38
I havent yet done analysis on section wise performance, but questions in both V and Q are definitely more complicated than in the Princeton tests.
Was following this thread , and ATB to Keya and Anjinsan for your GMAT this week. Do post your scores and your experiences post D day
Cheers

Hi Cybericy,
Don't worry, 670 is pretty decent in Kaplan. I got the same and panicked, but people have been telling me that it's a pretty good score for Kaplan.
Just keep your cool and don't panic like I did... and you ought to do fine.

Re: Help!! Kaplan and Actual GMAT score comparisions -

Hi Anjinsan
The answer would be 7. Here's why:
4**17 - 2**28
= 2**(2x17) - 2**28
= 2**28(2**6 - 1)
= 2**28(64-1)
= 2**28(63)
=(2**28 )x 7x3x3
Now, the SMALLEST prime factor would be 2, but the largest would be 7.
I think you picked the smallest by mistake, Anjinsan..
I have a question of my own:
h(x) is a function of an EVEN NUMBER x such that h(x) is the PRODUCT of all EVEN numbers from 2 to x, inclusive.
The largest prime factor of h(100) +1 is:
1. Between 0 and 10
2. Between 10 and 20
3. Between 20 and 30
4. Between 30 and 40
5. Greater than 40
I went through all the mistakes I made in my Quant test today, and was able to do all the others except this one. Which shows that my old nemesis 'Panic' was the cause of my Quant downfall today.
If anyone can please post the solution to this question, I'd be really greatfull.... Calling all the GMAT biggies.... please pitch in, guys.
Keya

I think it should be 7 as well:
4^17 - 2^28
=2^34 - 2^28
=2^28 * (2^6 - 1)
=2^28 *(63)
=2^28 * (7 * 3^2)
What's the right ans ?
