Re: GMAT Query Centre - 15-06-2007, 08:31 PM

Hi
I have a few Questions regarding scholarships that we can get for pursuing GMAT :-

1. I've heard that scholarships are available only for GRE and not for GMAT.

2. What is the criteria that we need to fulfil to avail scholarships, if any?

3. On what basis are the scholarship amount dependent? How much is the amount that ppl generally get?

Thanks in advance.

Not true. Scholarships are availble for MBA students also.

2. What is the criteria that we need to fulfil to avail scholarships, if any?
No single criteria. Every school offers different types of scholarships. You will have to visit the website of a school to find out the types of scholarships it offers and procedure to avail of it.

3. On what basis are the scholarship amount dependent? How much is the amount that ppl generally get?
Again no straight answer to this. There is no "general" amount that people. Some people get no scholarships at all and some get 100% tuition waiver as scholarship

Thanks in advance.
There is no direct coorelation between GMAT score and scholarships. Scholarships depend on a host of factors - your GMAT score, your overall application, your financial needs (in exceptional cases) and also on the extent to which the school wants to take you in.
Usually the top schools offer little or no scholarships at all and the scholarship amount can increase if you apply to lower ranked schools.

Re: GMAT Query Centre - 17-06-2007, 11:49 AM

Thanks Rahul,
Your answers helped.

One more query, though its more on a personal front.

I am planning to go to US on work permit this year end or latest by early next year.
So, i am planning to take GMAT latest by this year end and join a B-school some time later (after spending around 1 yr + there. This will take my total exp to 3+)

Following are the points that i kept in my mind while taking this decision:-

1. Adding quality experience of working on client side. Quantity will come along with time.

2. Had prepared for CAT last year, so i am in flow of going thru the prep. Moreover, i wont be getting time to prepare next year, as what i have heard from seniors, i will be totally screwed by the job when i am onsite.

3. Will be able to earn some handsome amount so that i become a bit more financially secure.

Please let me know if i am missing sth while taking the biggest step of my life.

Thanks in advance.

Now come the trouble.
4. Kaplan 2006 CD 1: 570
5. Kaplan 2006 CD 2: 560
6. Kaplan 2006 CD 3: 570

My scores on the Kaplan are so low and importantly not improving...getting majorly psyched now.

Please suggest wht i should do?

Hi guys, i have my gmat on 27th aug.
I was givng the diagnostic test of OG 11 and found it tough.
I scored 19,19,15,12 in the PS/DS/RC/CR ...It was too much of patience testing with no easy question.

If any one else has given that diagnostic test of OG 11, pls share the experience. I am looking for 700-720 score and the result quite disheartened me.

Need advice - 19-06-2007, 11:43 AM

Puys,
I have some doubt regarding registration:

1. How did you pay for the GMAT? Can we pay by ICICI master card?

2. When we should give the five universities...During fixing appointment or while taking the test...

I am planning to take GMAT on AUG last week...
I going thro princeton review 2008...

Given some tests And I am scoring around 530....
Quants seems to be ok(I have taken CAT laste year)...But verball kills....
Planning to get OG11 and OG verbal review..

Is there any other books I should look to improve verbal...
