Hi, I have over 90 months of experience in IT and planning to take GMAT in a couple months from now to get into one of the one year exec-MBAs offered in India. I started with Barrons and found myself in need of lot of study and guidance. Will a prep course from Princeton Review (8 weeks/INR 28K) or any other coaching institutes would help? Can preparation be done on my own?

P.S: Am based out of Pune.
Preparation can be totally done on your own...you dont need the coaching institutes...you can check out my blog where i have shared my experiences as a 770 getter on gmat.
cheers!

I'd advise you to take up any CAT Material and go thru it topic wise. Also the toughest quant material for GMAT, I found, was Kaplan 800.

Re: GMAT Query Centre - 23-02-2008, 03:09 PM

people
i gave this mock GMAT on the CD with Barron's(not heard too much about this book for GMAT on thi forum), and I have two questions:
1. how good is this book for GMAT prep?
2. at the end of the test, all i got was a report showing what questions I had got wrong and right, stats regarding total nbr of correct/wrong Q's per section.
but they didn't give me a score - like 'blah-blah on 800'.

are all gmat mocks like this? which are the ones that will give me an expected score at the end of the test?

slam.

there's no form filling date for gmat. You can take any date you want to...if you are targetting schools for 2009 fall...you will have to fill the mba application forms this year. round 1 of application starts october for most schools...
for that you will need to take the gmat by jul-aug at max...so that you have atleast 1-2 months of time for application (essay writing, reco letters).

and for gmat you shud keep 3 months ideally and take a date atleast 2 months before the test date. so u shud start preparing now and take the date in 2 months for jul/aug.

for more info i wud suggest you to check out the official site for gmat...and also my blog.

cheers!
