Hi dablu,
I would say that the books u follow are dependent on the time frame that u have for prep. If u do not have an appreciable amount of time, it is not very useful working from a specific material; If u do, good for u. I have not done the OG. I would say that GMATPrep CD software needs to be practised well. That would help u a good deal. I referred to american educational aids material and found it pretty useful. check it out at www.aea.in

I cant say much abt the other stuff cause most of my prep for cat is what i leveraged here. So all the best to u.

Cheers!
Nagesh.

hi nikhil,

i cannot say much abt ur queries since i am in search of the same . I am a fresher myself.

I have found out some stuff though. U do not get too much funding in the US especially in the top universities for an MBA. It is not on par with that for an MS course. But with a higher score and appropriate work ex( usaully a min. of 2 years) i have heard that colleges on the lower side of ranking might give u certain waivers.
this does not mean that u get no assistance at all.
some colleges do give some forms of assistance. I am checking for the same now. I will keep u posted if i come across sth. Do the same will you?
U can pm me on other stuff.

Cheer!
Nagesh

Congrats on the good score!

As for your query about when to go in for an MBA, most schools recommend atleast 2 years of workex before apping. I would strongly encourage you to work for a few yrs before gng in for one.

Also chk out the kind of essays you need to write @ some of the schools you are planning for. They are all very thought provoking. In most of them you need to cite examples to prove what you've written. You will be able to write these only when you've worked for a while.

Chk out Simba's series of articles on International MBA. They one of the best of their kinds you will find, esp for applicants who were targeting CAT earlier.

HTH,
Uday

Also, is having prior job experience for GMAT a requisite or what? Everyone seems to be specifying that for sure "I have so and so amnt of job experience" or "I would be having so and so amnt of job experience after this much of time so I then I can apply"

I would appreciate if someone were to throw light upon these queries.
Hi,
one requisite is 'JOB EX', itrs a must. And as far as fin-aid is concerned. we can always bank on banks for loans. Once u are done with graduation from reputed B-school, clearing the debts is no big deal. Ideally it takes 1.5-2 yrs to clear the loans.

So go ahead man.
