Excel Template for working on the OG 11 - 24-10-2005, 01:24 PM

Please find enclosed a worksheet for working on the OG 11 based on sets of qs for each topic.

The chart will show you - how much you have completed. What is your hit rate. What your weighted hit rate would be.

I have also enclosed a sheet which was my status halfway thru - so that you get a hang of what to fill in where.

You can easily adapt it to use it for Kaplan 800. I have posted the number of qs in Kap 800 earlier.

Still you may need clarifications to use it - Feel free to ask.

Bye

Parag

Re: Excel Template for working on the OG 11 - 25-10-2005, 11:34 PM

Parag:

Thank you for your replies. I have downloaded the excel sheet and will work on it.
Am not too bad in maths, 80%+ in ICSE & ISC, College (in US) irrelevant, however, out of touch for very long.

Yes, I am working (long & hard hours), however, I can surely put away 2 hours everyday. I have also noted your 2-3 month/burnout advice. But do you think with 2 hours a day I can realistically cover everything you have suggested in 2-3 months? Also, any perceived advantage of taking the GMAT post-December 2005?

Thanks for the encouragement. I appreciate what you have posted throughout this thread and I am quite sure you have benefitted many people.

Regards

Re: Excel Template for working on the OG 11 - 26-10-2005, 09:52 AM

If you are doing 2-3 hrs per day then 2-3 months is OK. But be sure to put in 8-10 hrs on the weekend (with a practice test in it). Also schedule a leave or something in the last week (pref last 2 weeks) so that you can take other things off your mind.

Thanks for the Thanks

Bye

Parag:

Shall start this Saturday with your advice. You may have overlooked a question I had in the earlier post :

"Also, any perceived advantage of taking the GMAT post-December 2005?" Just your opinion, if you have one on this.

I would percieve a disadvantage - if at all there is any. & that would be that the present format (ETS) is a known devil. Everybody knows what to expect.

When the Pearson Vue format comes into picture in early 2006 it would be an unknown devil. However I feel if you are taking it in late Jan or feb onwards all those devils will be out in the forums. Just be sure to go thru lots of "just finished my GMAT" posts so that you know of any twists and turns.

All said and done the test is "Standardised" so if any changes are there - say in question difficulty level it will be normailsed in the scoring I think.

So dont go in expecting any advantage / disadvantage - just be prepared.

Bye

Parag

Re: GMAT study group in Delhi ..! - 27-10-2005, 10:32 AM

Hi
I’m an Electronics Engineer from an REC. I’m interested more in the management field than the core technical. This year it’s my third attempt at CAT. I have got a few calls in the previous years and CAT %ile of up to 98. This time I expect to score 99 but still getting into IIM’s is a different ballgame altogether with the sectional cutoffs and GD/PI. Though I’m trying my best, I’m keeping the other option – GMAT also open. I have never taken a mock GMAT test so I’m not too much aware of the pattern. Can anybody tell me like how much score I can expect in GMAT with say a 1 month preparation? And when should I think of applying? Till now I have about 2 and half years of work ex in premier IT companies.
Thanks

Re: GMAT study group in Delhi ..! - 01-11-2005, 01:26 AM

Finally I put in the Application for ISB today. It was a relief after so many days of trials and tribulations.

I am planning to visit ISB the week after next. Will put in some inputs then. Also starting research on other schools post Diwali.

Now starts the nail biting. Wish me luck - folks & Wish you all a Happy Diwali.
