@ parul

am not sure if there is an active group -- but there are two of us in Gurgaon who are prepping for a GMAT in October 08... let me know.

You will get a better idea of the admission process at ISB's website
www.isb.edu

I will chip in with some pointers.

You are encouraged to have atleast two years of post bachelors work-experience.
You need to have a valid GMAT score
There are two rounds in which you can apply. Round 1 ends on 15th sept and Round 2 ends on 1st dec.

You need to answer a number of questions related to your profile in the application form, which is filled online. The application fee is $70. You will need two recommenders who can support your candidature. Professional recommendations are prefered. You will also need to answer 4/5 essays(essay topics are mentioned on ISB website and change every year).

I presume by coaching, u are referring to preparation for GMAT. Self-study is the best method. There are no good institutes for GMAT training in the Delhi region and assuming you work, coaching institutes will take up a lot of unnecessary time. Read debriefs of people who have taken GMAT and you will get an idea of how to prepare. You can always post doubts/questions on pagalguy forums.

Hope this helps !

The MBA Saga continues...
GMAT 2008 - Q50 V47 - 780
Cat 2008 - 99.70%ile LKI calls.. Convert - IK
Cat 2006 - 99.79 %ile LI calls .. skipped GD/PI
Cat 2005 - 99.68 %ile LACKI calls .. no converts

@ Tank -- when all did you write the GMAT this year-- months. (someone tells me that the real exam is getting tougher.. way tougher than GP releases and even Kaplan tests)

@Ashna- I will add in to what Tank has said

1) search for ISB on PG-- threads have discussed it threadbare (pun intended) -- ISB v/s Said ; ISB v/s Yale - ISB for people who deserve better .......

2) For the GMAT coaching- look at the Education Supplements and Sunday papers, you will see multiple adverts. Call ALL of them to understand the costs ( not capabilities - remember they are Dilliwallahs and will all go for an overkill on sales) - pick up centres you can easily go to.

Then ask to attend a free class. Make up your mind according to the stuff in the instructors who teache (some franchisees have instructors who have mugged up the notes) and how the batch responds.

3) You may want to connect with some in the ISB who have been admitted to 2009 batch. Call Hyderabad.

4) Finally questions like 'is my profile a fit for ISB?' will get answered if you compare what you have studied (colleges and subjects - scores do not matter unless you were a valedictorian), where you have worked (industry, company as compared to where most of the current and past batch was), others to my mind don't really matter ...

5) Again - ISB has one of the more efficient on-boarding teams I have spoken with -- call their admissions office.

H.

Re: GMAT study group in Delhi ..! - 20-09-2008, 11:33 AM

hey hi...
i have just joined this group after hearing much about this webie from my brother who was in great lakes '07 .really felt nice to see lot of people who are determined to be successful. i was always finding such kind of group to discuss study related facts.

now me ... i am second year engg. student here in delhi (IPU )..... interested in GMAT '10.
wonder if i find someone of my age here..

second if someone could direct me towards right direction...by just letting me know what should i do at this stage so that i dont face much problem ahead.

i think i have started at correct time to prepare....as i am in my early stage would like to ask about what is the base of the exam?

when it comes to life , many theory lessons fail , all you have to do then is...

Be practical
