I went to see their dean - a firang called thor hendricksen in may. He seemed nice and promised quite a bit, about firang faculties etc. But their campus is a shit-hole "literally".

Its in a old - abandoned building with lots of auto repair shops below it. Their office was pretty small and the building was dark. There was aod-awful stink as well.

Its quite obvious that they have no money and will probably milk the student for whatever its worth - Beware!

These are some strong views & sentiments being aired about this new B-school that has come up @ Belapur ( Navi Mumbai) under the brand Aegis.
Well, to begin with I don’t intend to get into a verbal dual. I guess, on this forum everyone is free to express their views/opinions as they perceive. However, it would be prudent to make judgements only after doing some research or analysis rather than jump into conclusions based on hear say or first impressions.

As a student of Aegis School of Business, I do agree that, it is not located in the most scenic of campuses. But for working professionals like us, who are looking for a fast track 1 yr Management program; content & calibre of faculty, the course modules, industry interaction, etc are of value. The superficial aspects of infrastructure, campus, etc are not the primary objective; especially when the costs have to be kept to a minimum.

You are perfectly entitled to form such a strong opinion based on what u have seen. Honestly, even I had similar thoughts. But, once you take the initiative to see behind the scenes, then you would be pleasantly surprised. It’s been a month since commencement of the course & believe me; the calibre of the faculty, their domain knowledge, industry experience; all of that has vindicated this choice of mine. In case any of you blokes need any clarification, u are free to contact me.

Hi Joy,
Sorry for not responding to u'r earlier query .. Was tied up with assignments @ stuff. Well, I wouldn't know, what u'r issues are with the website are. All the same, let me try & answer u'r queries.
1) Placements: This is the first year. So, u need to wait till Nov 2006 ,to get an analysis.
2) Faculty : So far , 3 different lectures are under way... Corporate Finance, Accounting, HR. The Faculties, are both from the industry & from an academic background. So far, i have no reason to complain & am quite impressed with their level of knowledge, dedication & teaching ability.
3) As regards to comparison of Faculty with ISB; haven't found it necessary to do such an analysis

All the same, in case u need any further relevant dope, feel free to post u'r queries to supertramp_india@yahoo.co.in

ps. The main focus of this course is on Finance, Accounts & Technology Management.

Joy,you have a lot of work exp behind you,10 yrs is a lot.
with all due respect to Aegis,I dont think you should try n get into a relatively unknown new college coz it wouldnt carry any weightage.
Try for a 1 yr mba at SP jain ,IIM or other top b schools which offer this course.
Cheers,
Frank.
