look we have collected a few books..n are still looking for some..so if the need arises you should be able to get the required material and share it with the group members..only then will you get a copy of the already existing material..you can always participate in the meets..but if you not willing to give any thing back(get the required material) plz dont expect any material from us.

about the intros, according to me..on a public forum, such as this..they will always remain generic.

ps: This applies for all the wannabe members of this group.

hello everybody,

First of all....I really liked the idea of this informative and interactive 'mumbai gmat group'....
thanks to drunk jerk...and all the other members of this group.

I am Navin Devda from mulund, working with Reliance Energy (MIDC) since last 15 months, have done my post graduation (MCA) from MET Bandra. I am planning to give my GMAT around Jan 2006.

After attending the MBA fair at Grand Hyatt...I have decided to go for MBA (12-16 months course). In India, I have options of IIMA PGPX andISB....aboard I was considering INSEAD, NUS, SAUDER, AGSM and YORK university....these all are 'kkahyaali Pulaav' ...... first I need to crack GMAT and probably TOEFL...am really confused for this one, as few univ at fair said they want TOEFL and others didnt.

Request to help me select the right study material...to my limited knowledge

1. OG is a must have...now theres a confusion, to go for which one- 10 ed or 11 ed or both ??? also new verbal and quant supplementary has come up from ETS.

2. which supplementary / or starter book along with OG, to go for - Kaplan 2006 or PR or Kaplan 800 ???.... as... when i read reviews on amazon...people start with minimum one of the said book concluding with OG...and also they keep giving powerprep test thru out...

I met with few people from Kalpan center at MET, honestly they have shortage of good faculty / guide....i have no idea of IMS training......so know am looking for personal tutor..if somebody can refer me ......else will start on my own..as most of them do.

I am glad to find this group....it will be my pleasure to meet, discuss and prepare with you all....

Re: Gmat - 07-10-2005, 09:29 PM

Now I am planning to take the KAPLAN classes at Bandra for GMAT... They will be charging me INR 20000 for 8 weeks course. I think this amount is too dear and was just wondering if someone could suggest me some better though effective alternative to crack the GMAT in this given time constraint...

Hi Bhagyarulz.......

Just wanted to inform you abt the KAPLAN classes and material.A friend of mine had enrolled for the kaplan classes and she says that the classes aren't really that great but the quant material is quite useful. She had paid abt 7500 for kaplan classes. She has given her GMAT and has scored 720.

Well i am getting the kaplan material from her in a few days, maybe you can share it. I thought i'll inform you before u shell out that 20,000/- of urs.

Hope to see you on the 9th.

Praveena
