Exclamation Some English Word Meanings - 19-08-2005, 07:09 PM

Hi!

For the past few weeks I have been compiling a list if some not so commonly used words in English, their meanings, examples etc. These are picked up from outlook, business world , hindu newspaper. I hope this helps the junta. Pls add to this list if you can and add more words so that we have a ready reference at any time for the forum members.

Thanks
Nitin

hi there..
im never sure of my answers in this section.should i still go for attempting them as out of all the sections, this one needs the highest cut-off??!!

also, about parajumbles,i think if we attempt that part, our scores can shoot up like anything.we just need to identify a link which will help us eliminate options.

i absolutely agree with you. PJs were bringing my score down drastically. i used to get a hit rate of 2 outta 6.
i then concentrated on Pjs for an entire week. practised everyday.
result: last mock i got all of them right

i tried looking for books with PJs exercises.. cudnt find any. so i stuck to old test papers. they are very helpful.

well good luck

m.

My accuracy in RC is pathetic (it actualy is!, usually a measly 50% )....any tips on how to go about getting a respectable score here.
PS: I dont wanna top RC..just wanna clear the cut offs, qa is my stength.

Va is one section along with RC where luck is really important.Ppl will rush in and say 'practise' , not luck is the factor. True but think about it. CAT is a std test like amit said and scores cant vary too much. I got 99+ twice in mocks and also 50 in 2 mocks. It has to be your day and everything has to fall in place read- the ans should strike u the 1st time, if that don't happen, prb it won't the second time u read the qn. Concentration is the key.
