Commonly confused Words - 21-09-2009, 03:16 PM

One of the question types in CAT asks you to choose suitable options between commonly confused words, such as counsellor and councillor, or between superficially similar words such as genuine and sanguine.
So I thought of starting a thread with an aim to tackle such kind of questions.
I will be posting 10 such questions daily and hope it will benefit you all. At the end of each day will be posting the answers for these.
