GRE has direct word based qs. CAT doesnt!

for GRE goin thru the wordlist is a necessity. for CAT its not necessary but while goin thru some vague passages if you dont know half the words then you wont know anythign abt the passage!

I think Barrons GRE wordlist is good enough for both CAT and GRE!

Hi friends,

I am using the wordlist book provided by the IMS.
I wanted to know that whether that single book is enough.
Apart from this book...m go through novels, newspapers and online resources.

Are flashcards neccessary ?/

The need for improving vocabulary is to be able to infer the meaning properly
so if you are able to do that without flash card than it's ok
and if not than u should go for them

The thing which I will like to highlight over here is , it's ok even if u go through
a selected list of word's but the important point is that u should know all the context in which that particular word is used .

hey meg if you can remember the entire vocab book of ims it will be more than sufficient but i think the keyto improve ure vocab wud be to read a lot along wid remembering words.that wya u ll understand different words being used in different contexts.
