go with ashish on the 1st one - C.

But the 2nd one methinks it shud be E.

A - missing they
B - instead of would find a miracle it shud be would have found miraculous
C - not clear abt what the gparents would find miraculous - the household work or the appliances.
D - could is wrong usage, as the sentence is in present tense.

rjtsonu, can u plz post the ans to the previous Qs? dankyu!

Quote:
At the time of the Mexican agrarian revolution, the most radical faction, that of Zapata and his followers, proposed a return to communal ownership of land, to what had been a pre-Columbian form of ownership respected by the Spaniards.
(A) land, to what had been a pre-Columbian form of ownership respected by the Spaniards
(B) land, a form of ownership of the pre-Columbians and respected by the Spaniards
(C) land, respected by the Spaniards and a pre-Columbian form of ownership
(D) land in which a pre-Columbian form of ownership was respected by the Spaniards
(E) land that had been a pre-Columbian form of ownership respected by the Spaniards
I think the answer is B.
Here I feel the order in which the sentence is put should be considered.
"it is a pre-Colombian form of ownership which was respecetd by the spaniards" looks more right than "it was respected by the spaniards which was a pre-Colombian form of ownership". Just look at the order in which the facts have been put.
I don't c anything worng in pre-colombians. The form of the sentence demands that.

Quote:
For many people, household labor remains demanding even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle.
(A) even if able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
(B) despite being able to afford household appliances their grandparents would find a miracle
(C) even if they can afford household appliances their grandparents would have found miraculous
(D) although they could afford household appliances their grandparents would find miraculous
(E) even if they are able to afford household appliances which would have been a miracle to their grandparents
looks E to me.
the rest of the sentences misses the word which. anyways I don't think they is necessary before 'able'.

Hi Guyz thanks for ur answers ..

the corrrect answers are - A and C

I would go with ashish for the 2nd question but for the first one B seems the best out of all the choices, though it is wordy.

Can anybody explain how A can be the correct answer?

confused between D and E. Ruling out the others as they r not in the past tense. Y past tense? 'cuz yielded is past tense.
