A. Embalming (from the Latin 'in balsamum' means to 'put into balsam', a mixture of aromatic resins) and the process of mummification are very similar in that the corpses were anointed with ointments, oils and resins.
B. Poorly enbalmed bodies are often black and very brittle.
C. The word 'mummy' comes from a misinterpretation of the process

E. To embalm and to mummify essentially means the same thing.
the sentence D talks abt the bodies(emblamed0r mummified),so we must look out for a sentence which contains bodies(in plural form only cuz of the word these in sentence D)so that it can come just b4 the sentence D.had there been discussion abt any other things esp in plural form in any sentence other than B then it would hav created confusion.so here its clear that D comes after B.BD is the clue.
now if we begin with a general intro with E about embalm and mummify , then A and C defines the objective posed by sentence E.so its all in right sequence and EACBD constructs a meaningful para
