C.Both large and small programmes have advantages and disadvantages.
D.The two oldest business schools in the world, the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and the Tuck School at Dartmouth College, both in the US, respectively admit around 800 and 250 full-time MBA students each year, but both are generally acknowledged as “alike in dignity”.

B.The prize committee has been criticised in the past for focusing heavily on the neoclassical approach to economics, which in political terms is often equated with the market liberalism dominating mainstream economics today.
C.The current financial crisis is raising questions about the legacy of the Nobel economics award, with prized liberal market theories being blamed for the mess and some experts saying the turmoil will in future push the prize in a new direction.
D."I think the crisis is leading to a fundamental change in the philosophy. We've seen that unfettered markets can be a disaster," Joseph Stiglitz, a Columbia University professor who himself won the 2001 Nobel Economics Prize, said.

D.It has engaged, intellectually and professionally, with key issues concerning the armed forces, from the high strategy of war-fighting, to higher defence management, civil-military relations and even the benefits and welfare of professional soldiers. This newspaper’s commitment to the soldiers’ cause is also shared by its readers.

Implex - PJ - 06.10.2008 - pg152 solutions
1)A is clearly the opening sentence and D continues it, so we have the link AD, thus options 1,2, 4 and 5 ruled out. Option 3)
2)C is clearly the most general statement and thus the opening candidate, D continues with it an example, we can again move to B and then to A. Option 3
3)A is clearly the opening sentence, explained by C, and then by B. We are left with option 4and 5. Clearly ED is an obvious link, hence option 4.
4)Clearly D is the opening sentence, the contrast in E and C, makes the link DEC obvious. The use of and makes it obvious link BA exists, hence option 4.
Hope you guys enjoyed it, my first attempt at framing va questions . I will try to do some more as soon as I read some good blogs | | | | | The Following 5 Users Say Thank You to implex For This Useful Post: | | | | | |
