@vars.jat,
Here's the reasons for 2nd & 5th SCs...

Agreement was done in the past (1972) and should be shown in the past. municipalities were dumping before the agreement therefore had is required.

Two actions completed in the past:
First action: municipalities were dumping - Past Prefect (HAD)
Second action (happened after first): Agreement reached to reduce the amount
Simple Past

2nd)
A 1972 agreement between Canada and the United States reduced the amount of phosphates that municipalities had been allowed to dump into the Great Lakes.
(A) reduced the amount of phosphates that municipalities had been allowed to dump
(B) reduced the phosphate amount that municipalities had been dumping
(C) reduces the phosphate amount (missing that) municipalities have been allowed to dump
(D) reduced the amount of phosphates that municipalities are allowed to dump

(E) reduces the amount of phosphates allowed for dumping by municipalities

5th SC) Except A all other has modifier problems.

Well, i'm very sorry...yaar, i may not met your expectations while reasoning....i'm not good in SCs . i just dont wanna messup by givin my reasons...hope U won't mind..! it will be great, if people who are good in these areas can share their views..so that people like me can learn lott...

always SCs gonna my nemisis in CAT..., i'm sure this time i wanna overcome..smartly ..

I think we are posting in wrong thread, there is another link for SC for CAT-2008.All the SC questions should be posted there and the usages(as given vy tzshrivastva)or other thingslike FIJ should be posted in this thread i.e. VA Guide for CAT 2008.

this way we will be able to map our progress with fellow mates and also if we r unable to visit pagalguy 4 sum reason at least we will have the repository there in our mail boxes...

decide and let me know the nominations...

wow.. lots of enthusiasm pouring in this thread. adrenalin seems to be rushing down the vein. Well guys we do need these initiatives in order to excel a cause-which is a common cause here -- thts tame the feline .

hey tarun and others kudos to u guys, have done a wonderful job chocking out plans, identifying proper threads and also contributing to those in a very efficient manner.
few bucks suggestions from my side ,if unsuitable in the present scenario, brickbats are welcome .

@ tarun i am not pretty sure, whc mail box u r talking about. b'coz if its PG mailbox - the storage is limited-so in that case repository idea drops hence forth. but ya if u can send it to personal mail ids i.e yahoo, gmail etc then that may help.
But again the basic idea is to practice and discuss. so to me, as we have seen in the recent past in pg, that we can post the questions in the forum in respective threads and evryone can pour in there answers queries whatevr it takes in the same thread.
and about repository-- i have an idea- infact thats the stolen one --
in one of the sacred threads for preparation in PG, i have seen someone maintains a list of important post in the same thread,if you follow those numbers u can zero down the important fundas, questions etc present in the thread.
any one of us can keep the post# of the questions posted and thr consolidated answer posted in one post-- sayin most important posts. and keep on editing that with further exercises. I am on for this idea b'coz mails are those demons which never makes u work . at least that is the case with me. I used to receive lots of questions, puzzles etc thru mail but nvr worked on those. as pg is our second home and first office , all of us wll be active here -- hope so.
so just consider this as a point being raised, thats it. neway i will abide by the group decision.

on e more idea struck me

we can give a unique name to the questions posted- like say : "Parajumbled Question # " and the consolidated answer may contain "Parajumbke Answer #".
thr is a option - to search in the thread, whc we can use in order to search the required stuffs.
