@ IOTA
"The best choice, E, has parallel infinitives and uses fruit to refer unambiguously to citrus. E also expresses the cause-and-effect relationship between the return of warmer weather and the rotting of the fruit; A, C, and D merely describe these events as contemporaneous."
I understood cause-effect realtionship in this case. But still,Can u throw some light on this cause-effect relationship in general by giving some examples?.
thanks

Hello everyone, I was of the opinion that we shud start a systematic preparation….first lessons, then exercises and after that discussions on the exercises… This way v will b able to cover up every type of variations as FIJ’s, Sentence correction/Jumbled etc etc (I lable them as verticals) across the 3 main horizontals viz grammar, usage and vocabulary. I have made a study plan….if everybody agrees to this we can start rght away…bcos what ever is happening rght now is no doubt excellent but is very un systematic and we don’t have any trace of actually what is done or what else is to be done…. Decide guys and post ur views…. Rgds

@ tzsrivastava..
HI there everyone...like my PG mate suggested a better study plan..i think we can work on forming a study plan that wud help us out,,,
it's good that we follow the routine suggested in d quoted text...
as far as the lessons are concerned, we can all contribute our tit-bits...we can start on with something of the sorts- first week of the month(Grammar);second(vocab/grammar);third(CR/PJ/FIJ)fourth (suggested reading comp exercises) ...or what ever we like ...this way we'll have a judicious allocation to all the verticles!!!(thnx tzsrivastava for the term)....
regards
dkny.jakhar
P.S. pls let us start ASAP Quote:

SC : 2
1)E - have developed shows present tense while it should be in past tense.so we can rule out A and B.for C -basing is wrong .D) it talks of North American Indians not of calendar.
2)dont know C and E can be ruled out on the basis of tense reduces(present) and D are allowed .So clash is between A and B. Tell puys??
3)E -in other sentences adverb only is modifying in wrong way
4)A -consequence of is the phrase not others.
5)I can rule out last 2 but first three seem confusing.so please answer.

thanks | Missed this post earlier - sorry for the delay
cause effect as the name suggest is smthing which connects the cause to the effect.
wen we say connect the first thing comes into the mind is "Conjunction".
also thr are preposition and transition.
let us see what conjunction does :
the most important conjunction in case of cause effect are because,as,since and so. first 3 introduces a cause and the other i.e so introduces a effect.
e.g : he didn't go to work because he was not feeling well
he was not feeling well so he didn't do to office. "Tonight is a really special night for me - it was a dream for me just to play for Sao Paulo and one game for Brazil. But the Bible says God can give you more than you even ask for." important one are due to and because of.both of this introduces a cause in the form of a noun phrase.
he didn't go to office due to his illness.

introduces a effect. They are used to join two complete sentences(independent clauses) together.
he was not feeling well;therefore, he stayed at home.

hope this helps.... "Tonight is a really special night for me - it was a dream for me just to play for Sao Paulo and one game for Brazil.
