1) Key word in answer is whatever
5.Whatever the outcome, though, at least one lesson has been learnt. Follow-up studies now in the planning stage are expected to use prospective as well as retrospective data.

2) Para talking about its construction of building and its fire-proof.
2) 2.It was in part "a double fire-proof structure", with massive metal pillars and every due precaution against fire for the time.

3)
4.But, he is a common man with great powers.

Re: Implex -PC- 7.10.2008 Pg 229 - 07-10-2008, 01:35 PM

Implex -PC- 7.10.2008 Pg 229

My take :

Question 1

The contradictory headlines about the dangers of mobile phones are the result of national research teams releasing single-country reports, despite the fact that these inevitably involve smaller samples. The results from nine of the 13 single-country studies have been made available in this way, and the consequence is a farrago of misinformation. Many of the national reports suggest, for example, that ever having been a regular mobile-phone user offers statistically significant protection against some brain tumours.

3.This finding is so counter-intuitive that it has led most of the people involved to acknowledge serious flaws in the study’s design.

Question 2

In the immediate neighbourhood of Kilson & Sons was a bond warehouse built twelve years previously by Charles Bertram, and generally known by his name. The building was extensive, reaching to seven storeys, and capable of holding an immense amount of goods. It was at the time used to store thousands of tons of sulphur, nitrate of soda, and other combustibles.

1.Despite this, from its proximity to the worsted factory, the intense heat caused the sulphur to ignite, melt and stream in a burning blue flame liquidised state from the windows

Question 3

Though lacking in directed training, Shaktiman is one of the most experienced superheroes in the l Indian Comic Universe. He has worked with virtually everyone in the superhero community at one time or another. Due to this experience, he has beaten foes with far greater powers and abilities. His fighting style is purely freestyle, which incorporates his speed, agility, strength, equilibrium and spider-sense. A very large part of his combat ability is improvisation and using his wits to out-think his opponents.

2.It helps Shaktiman deal with any fears or doubts that he might have during a battle.
