I will go with option 5. The reason being that the passage starts off with the sentence that says let's talk about the chemistry behind fireworks but there actually seems to be little talk about anything related to chemistry in the lines following. That leaves us with options 1,3 and 5 of which 5 appears to be the best option to complete the para.

Medulla (others can answer too ), I have a doubt here. The given passage says that "…time to watch basic chemistry in action again with the sights and sounds of Diwali…"

Doesn't the word 'action' indicate that the author is more oriented towards practicality and appeal rather than chemical composition? Probably somewhere before this para (indicated by the use of 'again') he has already explained the theory part and here he's going more for practical or observatory or preceptory part of gunpowder?

I was also confused... but when i saw the first line... "It is a time to watch basic chemistry "so i thinkl e is the answer... "again" i sbecause... at the occasion of diwali... author again wants to see the basic chemistry...
