For question 4 I would like to go for D because that gives the correct parallelism.

Here r the answers.
1) What do you like best, to swim, to drive or to jog?
No, here the sentence doesn't become incorrect. Being redundant is a different thing but here we are making proper use of parallelism so, the sentence is correct.
Also, What do you like best, swim, drive or jog ?
& What do you like best, swimming, driving or jogging?
2) As the years passed by, my grandmother and I saw less of each other. Here, one another becomes each other as one another is more than two people. For two people, we use each other.
Any doubts above the above, feel free to ask.

hi sid, as far as that sentence to walk,to swim or to jog,(yes the sentence is correct but the concept of redundancy says its better to avoid repetition.) another thing... in the second sentence /...why are we changing 'I' toi its objective(accusative case) 'me', i think we should not. but pls let me know that.... my reason for it.... "My grandmother and I" is in subjective case bcos they are the doer of the action of' not seeing each other' might be wrong but still.... regards jakhar ...i should not wish to be thought in earnest only when i am solemn... | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to dkny.jakhar For This Useful Post:

Subjective Case Objective Case Possessive Case
I Me My,Mine
We Us Our ,Ours
You You Your,Yours
He Him His
She Her Her,Hers
It It Its
They Them Their,Their
Who Whom Whose
Remember : You should remember this table by heart .It would help you remember the cases of personal pronouns.
Now , I maintain the distinction between the two Cases by working on the lines of finding who is the doer of the action and who is the receiver.
So, for Ist person , I is subj because , as is evident in this sentence-I kicked him, I is the doer hence is subj. Now the Objective case of I is ME….as in: he kicked me(me is the receiver).
Likewise for We and Us.
Now, on to the Second person.. the subj and obj case of second person i.e. you is You – as in ….you kicked him and he kicked you.
So moving on to He,him, she, her etc,…
Once you remember this table the basic platform is there to move upwards…
Take this example for instance-
A donkey kicked Ram and Rahim, we can clearly see donkey is the doer hence subject and Ram and Rahim are both objects.
Now on the same lines, He invited you and I/Me to the party… Over here Action verb is “nvited”. He is Subject and the action happened on You and I/me(yet to decide which one), so both are the objects hence obj case . Refer table( you ka obj case is you…and out of I and Me which one is Objective – yes the answer is ME. ...i should not wish to be thought in earnest only when i am solemn...

Subject is the doer of the action and object is the receiver,,,
So in – A donkey kicked Ram, donkey is the subject and Ram is the object. The words which describe the subject are in subjective case and object in objective case… the possession is shown by possessve case.
Subjective Case Objective Case Possessive Case
I //Me //My,Mine
We //Us //Our ,Ours
You //You //Your,Yours
He //Him //His
She //Her //Her,Hers
It //It //Its
They //Them //Their,Their
Who //Whom //Whose
