as is quite obvious, the answer is 'E' as both the subjects that are being compared by a similarity in their property( in this case , helium atoms and other inert gases) must be placed as close as possible for the comparison to be effective.

I think it is C...

we can ignore D...as there is no comparison... "so fast" sounds in complete... "he crossed so fast as wind"...ignoring E considering this....
