for the first one i might still get convinced with E i cant exzactly find anything gramatically wrong with the sentence as such , but with the second im not sure if compared with is a correct usage , compared to is fine , i go with verbal on my instincts as such no grammer maniac .... so anybody else for the rescue .
@suggestion - cant the sentence correction caselets be attached as files?
im not sure if anybody else has suggested this before or there are any particular reasons for the way its done now , but the presentway does make the posts very very long and inconvenient to browse through the thread.

SC 11:
E, D, B, C, D, E, B, C, C, D, E, E, C, B, D
Am sure most of them are wrong. But what to do..need a lot of practise in this particular section.
Cheers,

Re: Sentence Correction for CAT 2007 -

Hi puys, I have a doubt in one of the questions posted in sec10 :
106.Among the objects found in the excavated temple were small terra-cotta effigies left by supplicants who were either asking the goddess Bona Dea’s aid in healing physical and mental ills or thanking her for such help.
(A) in healing physical and mental ills or thanking her for such help
(B) in healing physical and mental ills and to thank her for helping
(C) in healing physical and mental ills, and thanking her for helping
(D) to heal physical and mental ills or to thank her for such help(A)
(E) to heal physical and mental ills or thanking her for such help
I think both A.) and E.) are correct here, can someone help me, whats wrong with choice E.) ? ?
thanks

To heal or thanking .... it is not parallel is hould be either
to ask .. to heal .. to thank........
since here it is "asking" parallel would be asking healing thanking
Ah I have missed a lot !! Well back from today !!!

Well, actually i did think over it while solving, and found the parallelism is not between these two statements but over the following two :
either asking the goddess or thanking her for such help
so to heel or in healing shouldn't matter here.
