| Two Idioms A Day... -
12-01-2007, 01:32 AM
Hello PG ians
Every now-n-then we come across many questions in different Exams related to IDIOMS and its USAGES....
As i couldnt find any proper thread for the same.... I am starting this one where we can collectively study and share many of them...
NOW COMES THE RULES:-
<1> Here I will post the first two IDIOMS .... and the junta will guess the meaning and give the USAGE in a sentence.....
** TO ADD TO THE FLAVOUR..... TRY TO MAKE THE SENTENCES AS FUNNY AND AS VIVID AS POSSIBLE.... A WIERD ONE WILL DO.... BUT IN THE PROCESS THE IDIOMS SHOULDNT LOSE ITS TRUE MEANING....
P.S:- One can use there fav PGians the BAKRA while forming the sentences....
<2> The next person will be selected by the question poster. He will be the one with correct meaning or the most nearest meaning and most proper Usage will be entitled to post the next two pences.....
** WE WILL HAVE ONLY TWO IDIOMS A DAY.... SO AS TO GIVE THE JUNTA PROPER TIME TO POST THERE REPLIES.... BUT IF ALL PRESENT FEELS THAT THE MOVE SHUD BE MADE WITHIN A DAY IT CAN BE DONE.... BUT NO HASTE PLZ...**
<3> HEY NO SPAMMING PLZZ.... USE THE THNX N GROAN SYSTEM TO EXPRESS URSELVES....
SO NOW I SHALL BEGIN...
<3> we will have only two words There's no escaping reason, no denying purpose - because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist.
It is purpose that created us, Purpose that guides us, That drives us, It is purpose that defines us, Purpose that binds us.

HERE ARE THE TWO IDIOMS TO THINK ABOUT....
<1> TO WASTE ONE'S BREATH
<2> TO GO OFF THE DEEP END
Plz give it a geniune try .... if u cant find the meaning.... then let the others post it first.... if still no one can.... then the question poster will do the job....
** avoid googling at first go** There's no escaping reason, no denying purpose - because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist.

<1> meaning : to tell or ask some something although that will have no affect.
sentence : you'd be wasting your breath reporting it to police.
<2> meaning : to suddenly become very angry
sentence : "what happened to you, you suddenly went off to the deep end without any reason.
