In cold blood: unemotional, without feelings
"Betrayed in love, he killed her in cold blood"

Out of the blue: something happening unexpected
"Her reply came out of the blue just before my departure"

Next: * sharp practises
* kept on tenterhooks

sharp practises: dishonest dealings or actions
Usage:The lawyer has been accused of sharp practice on several occasions.

on tenterhooks: nervously waiting to find out what is going to happen
Usage:We were kept on tenterhooks all morning waiting for his decision.

Next:
  1. Call Someone's Bluff
  2. Rock the boat

  2. Rock the boat

call someone's buff
ask to prove what someone is claiming; "John called his manager's bluff when he claimed John 's performance was bad .

Rock the boat
to do or say something that causes problems, especially if you try to change a situation which most people do not want to change.
We certainly don't want anyone rocking the boat just before the election

Feel like a penny waiting for change - to feel helpless or worthless.
eg: I felt like a penny waiting for change when I missed out on CAT'08.

Call someone on the carpet - to question ones action
eg: President Nixon was called to the carpet after the Watergate scandal.

No activity in last 4+ months. I am continuing it with these 2 Idioms. I feel if we also include phrasal Verbs in this thread, it can be more interesting. What other participants feel? If you are agree then please press "Thank" button or "Gron!" in case of disagreement.

1. wear the trousers
2. until u r blue in the face
