I liked it, infact it remains one of the best books i have read till date. The writer has a story and his characters are strong and each one is important in his/her own way. The book is just right, neithe too long or too short.
It would interest readers who immerse themselves in the story and live the livres of the characters. If you read just for leisure, then this wont find liking with you.
A small town group of 3 friends go out on a journey to find their own respectiv dreams via the same route, they open a sports shop for the cricket enthu, it is a medium for the main character to satsfy his busines ambitions and the third guy just does whatever the other two do
Love, friendship, dreams, ambitions, reality, religion, passion all come together in this beatiful tale of human heart over the human mind.
Ther writer has grown in stature and has a big experctation to live upto in his next book.
Will write more later
cheers !!! | HI,
I read the book(3 mistakes of my life) a couple of days back.. loved it. It has the ability to keep u stuck with the book till the time u finish it. and at the end of it, u want more. though in the starting it seems a bit slow but gathers pace oon after..
really nice book. i might just read it again.
Currently started A prisoner of birth by Jeffrey Archer. Any reviews on that one?

Thanks & Regards Sarsij Nayanam | The author is Advaita kala . A chick lit with nothing notable or extraordinary . About the love life of a client relationship manager in a hotel and how she gets hitched atlast . Very commonplace .Wont recommend it .
The book has become famous though .Would attribute that to marketing. | | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to leonadis For This Useful Post:

i have read "3 mistakes of my life".
I found it intresting. Its not a great story but the way Chetan( One of my fav) will take you on the ride is amazing.
The story revolves around 3 character( friends) called Gopi( who always use to dream about being a successful businessman), Ish( so Crazy about cricket that left NDA ) & Omi( a complete nerd)They open a sport shop in their locality and than destiny plays games. one of the best part is the love story between Gopi and Ish's Sister Vidya.
I will rate this book above one night at call centre and below Five point something(best) | | | | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to pankajjudge For This Useful Post:

plz advise... | hi! Well this book is good to go through, but has little (infact, almost none) practical results. What I am going to say about this book are my personal views (so you can ignore it, if you wish). I guess you have been recommended this book for MBA preparations (and especially for CAT), but let me tell you honestly - You wont need any speed reading technique for CAT (not even for JMET or XAT or any other MBA exam). On the exam day you will end up using your usual method of reading. (Speed Reding techniques are almost like Speed Maths tricks.....good in theory, but little practical utility). I would suggest that practice reading the way you have been doing till date (because this is what you will do on the exam day too), just try reading more and more and into diverse things. Try reading the editorials of the newspapers you get at your home, and write its summary after reading. this is more than enough for your enhancing your reading skills, and this will help you in a big way on the exam day. Trust me, no book can teach you to read fast and yet meaningful. I have tried this book, but its good as long as you are doing its exercises. Once you jump into the MBA type passages, you end up reading it the way you have been doing it. So its a good book to go through, but please dont expect any exam oriented results from it. Hope it helps. (I am sure that most of the people will differ from me, but as I said, these are my personal views. So you can ignore it at your own wish) | | | | | The Following 4 Users Say Thank You to sarsij For This Useful Post:

I finished three books in last week, "The shape of the beast:Arundhati Roy", Behanji olitical biography of Mayawati by Ajoy Bose" and "Nani A Palkhivala by Kamanth". I will strongly recommend all three for a reader who can digest books on social and political issues of India.
THe shape of the beast is a collection of interviews of Arundhati Roy, where she talks about her life both before and after Booker, her political and social issues and more. Though one may not agree with her on most of her arguments for or against some issues but one can notice her honesty during conversations. Some of the arguments and facts given by her on Indian development stories can not be overlooked if someone wants to see the whole picture.
Behanji:Political Biography of Mayawati is one of its kind of book which speaks about an unique leader who was not taken seriously on Indian political scene till she ascended throne of CM in UP recently. Author did not work very hard while writing this book, he simply went through Mayawati's autobiography in Hindi and media reports about her during past many years. Bose should have visited places across UP and should have talked to people who vote for her with amazing loyalty, writing coming out of such interaction could have been of the highest order.
Mayawati story is unique and different from usual political rises of the past, though her contributions are usually neglected but she has been looked upon by major section of society in UP as source of pride and honour.
Nani A Palkhivala was a legend who was part of most of the significant cases of last 60 years right from Golak Nath to Bank nationalization case to Kesavananda bharti to Minerva mills to reservation case(1992). A man of integrity and source of inspiration, he was one of the greatest sons of this nation.
He was offered seat at Supreme court of India at age of 39, he was offered position of attorney General of India, prolific author, "Mr Palkhivala was a director on the boards of several leading Tata companies, including Tata Sons, Tata Steel, Tata Engineering and Indian Hotels. He was on the board of trustees of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and the Sir Ratan Tata Trust, and was also the chairman of the executive committee of TCS for several years", he served as ambassador of India in US during Janta government.
There have been few books which could give me as much pleasure as reading this particular book could!! " Ekam sad vipra bahudha vadanti" ("There is only one truth, the scholars explain it in various ways"), Rigveda.
