Hello Puys

I happened to read a very good book, infact it is a compilation of all the articles written by Thomas Friedman, the author of The world Is Flat.

His another great book, LONGITUDES AND LATITUDES.
man i must tell u all , this guy has great guts , he talks ferociously and his writings speak volume. this book is about US and its internal and external matters since 2001.

I must say this will broaden your horizons

I just finished reading Tim Hartford's 'The Undercover Economist'. The man is an economist, and he's brilliant! With characteristic Brit humour, he explains daily economic phenomena that and their intricacies. However, he's different coz he explains them in almost conversational style.

The Undercover Economist was good... better than Freakonimcs which I personally thought had very US=centric examples.... In Contrast, UC Economist had more "generic" examples from everyday life to explain Economic Phenomena..

However... I found the book too repetitive sometimes.... the same thing is repeated / said in 20 different ways in a span of 20 pages!

folks,

just read a horrible book- Everything you Desire- yet another ill-conceived addition to the campus novel bandwagon about life at IIM-B. AVOID like the plague- poorly written and with little message beyond a retelling of campus antics.

A good book in contrast was Fiasco- about the Iraq war- very well written and timely.

Spent some time at the Delhi Book Fair last week, and had an interesting story for you guys- met the publisher of The Funda of Mix-ology, chatted with him, and got the author's contact. Have written to him, and got an instant reply- have asked him to come and visit the forum...lets see!

cheer
