Thanx a lot buddy!
Thts really enlightning.
But i read somewhere tht software compatibility is not at all
an issue and its the biggest misconception people have bout
macs.. something called rosetta can be used for the purpose
and now with dual boot windows is always availaible at disposal.
can u plz shed some more light on tht,as im planning to get a
macbook pro for use at vgsom.
though a bit skeptical now.

the biggest factor that alwayz prevents me from buying a MacBook is the price...

even now when Apple has switched to the Intel processor, the price is too damn high for most people to afford....hence, if u r willing to pay for it then u shud go 4 it...

afterall that's the caption which Apple uses - THINK DIFFERENT!!

i m more of a linux fan but never had the pleasure of working on mac machines. With the advent of bootcamp, things wud get easier(i hope) for all mac enthusiasts. with bootcamp, one can switch between the 3 OS'.. so one doesn't need to bother about getting stuck with a mac.. especially here in india... the new intel macs are really fast and worth all the money they cost... rumours say they windows works on them faster than a P4 3.4Ghz...
i just hope this bootcamp thing works wonders for apple and it becomes popular in india too.

Re: Macintosh users in BSchools - 12-06-2006, 01:56 AM

Hi Guys

I came across this post through Google search.I am a macintosh user myself with a MacBook Pro.

I agree with many of the users here that apple should reduce it price and sell them at the same price as they sell in US.

Paying 45,000 Rs for a basic MacBook is worth every rupee..like they say paisa vasool.Unfortunately even this computer is sold for 60 k.

I have a two year old IBook G4, did not call technical support even once. It is still running like a new computer while my sister's Compaq bought around same time is nearly falling apart.

We are trying to set up a community for Macintosh users in India. Please visit our site and forward this information to any Macintosh user that you might know...

http://groups.google.com/group/macindia

We have around 11 members in this forum and I am sure there will be many more. If you know of anyone who uses Apple products like their iPod's or is a macintosh user then please join this forum. Even if you don't own an Apple product but would like to own one in the future, please join us.

regards

Rishi
