Somesh... for the CAT wordlist mugging is pointless. It might prove useful for some lesser exams.
Personally I would suggest you start reading a lot of editorials in a diverse range of newspapers and magazines.
Read Economics Times, read the whole editorial page and a bit more...it'll take care of your GD/PI preps and you will find new words there which have this uncanny knack for showing up in your tests.
CAT requires knowledge of more functional english, it's the kind of english you will find in biz magazines and papers... your being good at it means that you keep yourself well-acquainted with such publications...and thats what they want. Get it?
And for God's sake don't read novels... and you obviously don't know me well enough to have mentioned Ayn Rand
You will obviously read things you find interesting faster, what you need to do is get out of your comfort zone, read things that you're not naturally good at...philosophy, genetic engineering, medicine, astrophysics... anything under the sun.
