Server Statistics for the month of April 2003

Cheerrrs Folks.. We have moved an amazing amount of data this month. I guess that can be attributed to the results mania ! This month we have served over 1,85,000 pages !

boy.....thats an awful lot of pages pal......3.7gigs of data transfer ......sure sounds damn good... ....

one thing though, i sure wud like to know who's using getright someone trying to leech everything off the forum ???

I'm sure people have tried Getright at our download sections. But its not really very getright friendly. The main reason it is served off the server using the php script is to log the no. of downloads. If we had allowed a Getright download, the logged figures wouldn't be right.


Atleast am glad no one is seeming to use a site leecher.. .. Who knows some folks might want the entire forum data on their PCs

C'mon PG, By now you must have understood you can never say for anything that "this has never been tried on pg.com" (including assumed id's )
When I logged on to the forum after a long dormant period (may be in dec or jan) I used a site copier Well I did that coz I thought what if one fine day you decided to delete old posts . (I was not an active user that time, so did not know this community well enough) I still have that data on my PC

boy......i sure expected someone to be out there using site leechers....but never really expected them to come out in the open.....shubh.....so pg need not worry is it , if his db were to crash ... and talking of downloads....hey pg....r those stuff too logged...the links to the files on the threads..... a lotta guests must be directly downloading those stuff.....hey ppl...whatsay on removing those links from there....and making downloads accessible only from the forums....in effect only for registered users....... just a thought..... nothing more into it...whatsay folks....

Well after that I had asked pg if he would ever delete the posts here and he said no, so I decided to go easy on my dial up

But if you wanna see how our forum looked back then, I have got it
May be I will use it as an exhibit in the function to commemorate 100,000 users of PG.com or listing of pg.com on bse
