Hello everyone....this goes out to all those "pretty and "petty" woman out there in this forum!

I wrote this long back when Pretty Woman was aired in HBO(or was it STAR MOVIES?) Anyway read on...
Well there are some movies and then there are other movies......some movies are "classic" akin to the books which everyone wants others to read but haven't themselves read it! But I really don't know under which genre to put the movie "Pretty Woman" under.......not that it matters much anyway! This movie had been one which I had been always "wanting to watch".......but could never do it though I did watch the movie in fits and spurts thereby getting the hang of the story(?!) but still wasn't able to appreciate the nuances and the subtle touches in the movie.......but I guess today my wish was fulfilled........in more ways than one! The movie was very poignant and its strength lies in its simplicity........no extravaganza....no ostentatious and baroque display.....( I really shudder to think what would have been the outcome if this movie had been remade in Hindi! <shiver, shiver>)
oh alright let me assure you at the outset that I am NOT attempting to write a review of the movie here.....this movie is much beyond anyone's excoriation actually.....it's a "classic" in more ways than one. In retrospect I wonder which aspect made me sit glued to the TV.......Richard Gere's disarming smile ( well that guy is one smart fella alright!) or the seraphic innocence of Julia Roberts......boy did she look stunning in certain outfits!!!! Though I am no connoisseur of acting I personally feel both have done a tremendous job! ( Well Shahrukhs,Hrithiks and Aamirs of this world.....that is something to think abt eh?

guess I am treading in dangerous territory now!

) . The cinematography was good and the sound tracks of this movie are simply out of the world! Long after the names are gone......one can find oneself humming Roxette's " It Must Have Been Love" ........well this happens to be one of my fav songs too!
So guys If you haven't watched this movie yet keep your eyes open to the TV highlights......and well if you have already watched it do let me know what you feel abt it.......ok wondering what am I doing now writing abt a movie which came abt twelve years ago?
Well one of my fav friends' told me when she saw the movie," whenever I see the movie I still get goose pimples".
Guess I couldn't agree with her more. Hey who was that who told "The proof of the pudding is in tasting it?" .Well watch the movie and decide. So till I get to see any more "classics" it's
Sayonara from me who could I guess do better at his engineering than sit in front of the idiot box! But then what's fun in life if it turns out the way we want it to be?
Regards,
