hey ppl,

the only reason that qualis was phased out was due to the market startegy of toyota....

since quallis was launched in competetion with tata sumo as public transport vehicle... which tataly had beated the sumo in the indian market...

on the other hand innova was launched as an muv-(multi-utility-vehicle), the only car in its segment...

hence toyota ppl had to create the demand of there product in one way or the other otherwise there launch will be a total flop..taking into account the pricing and luxury which was higher than quallis...

in the urge of doing so they phased out there best selling car at that time which was a high risk 4m buisness point of view...
now they were in profit or in loss that, their turnover will decide...

as far as the reason is concerend...it is only this..otherwise if quallis was outdated in less than an year of its production wat will u ppl say about the 20yr old maruti800..zen or everthing else

gud dae

Only one thing to say that Innova is better than Qualis in almost everything it looks better and has better amenities and luxury and also newest technology,
the reason of discussions may b, that y to kill ur own product and reduce the scope of the newly lauched product.rest all our speculations

well wat i think is tht they hav added some spice to the segment, cost wise base model of innova and qualis is abt the same, by coming up wid innova they are givin more options to the comsumers, lower income and luxory shuld go with the base model and can use it as a luxory taxi as well, and the higher modle will gv good compt to cars like tata safari and m@m's scorpio.

why toyota took off qualis maybe still debatable but one thing which i would like to put forward is that the design of qualis has been bought by an indian company which has relaunched it by the name of 'rino'. its the same company which makes sonalika tractors.
