I guess this move by PM is totally ridiculous .Just imagine the number of CAT aspirants or for that matter JEE aspirants ,,,BOTH increasing at a phenommenal rate of 30%.We are as such plagued by reservations of SC and ST and our beloved PM has added fuel to the fire by introducing reservations for our neighbours .
Just imagine if pakis come to india ,,they are bound to stay in india for sure.
India is amongst the fastest developing nations. Our economy is booming and this all is because of our own hard efforts ,,These pakis who are good for nothin if come in to such prestigious institutes will have their share too in our well baked PIE.Inthe recent indo pak match it was observed that pakis were more interseted in experiencing INDIA the nation rather than the match .The freedom they enjoyed here was far better than their countRY.
I strongly feel that relation with our neighbour should be fostered to a certain limit ,,,but beyond the threshold line its better we let them stay where they are ..Our PM SHOULD CONCENTRATE IN PROVIDING MORE SEATS TO INDIANS RATHER THAN OPENING GATES TO NEIGHBOURS WHO ARE MORE INTERESTED IN REAPING FRUITFUL BENEFITS RATHER THAN ESTABLISHING THEIR OWN INSTITUTES OF PRESTIGE

Hey, I guess there is already a foriegn quota for IIms. If not they can add 10-15 seats in each IIM for foriegn students. I mean increasing seats from 240 to 255 would not make much of a difference. But studying with people from diverse backgrounds may add to the value of the MBA.
SO if that is the case everything is fine. But it is preposterous to think of reducing the seats in open category by bringing in another quota. If this is the case then let foreign nationals actually participate in the entire selection process.

The pakistanis shud apply thru the GMAT score in international students category

why shud they be given special quota?
There is no rationale behind it apart from fooling the junta and garnering some votes...
of those ppl in kashmir who mit think tht congress is taking steps to better the relations with pakistan and this mit help the kashmir problem to resolve....

now Japanese... - 30-04-2005, 08:32 PM

Well, we have another option of hating...Japan come to rescue the PGites who are short of critics for our hereditary enemy...

I am really chuckled with the thought that our IITs n IIMs are really worthy attention of even the second largest economy in the world..!! Their PM has asked for the interaction of students at these school and has shown interest in carry on development on that line.

I really hope our govt establish more n more colleges on the same line and attract foreign talents to interact with our students and our industry.

will be back to answer critics, if there is any!!

Well well
i will second the thought of attracting foreign talent to interasct with students of good institutes and infact it does happen. v can increase the frequency....

but opening of more such institute mit not be a gud idea one of the reasons being lessening of the exclusivity of being frm tht institute........

as an example, some 20 years ago being an engineer was an achievement.
but a mind boggling increase in the number of engg colleges in the last decade or so, is shocking........ i think the blame lies on the governing body, AICTE in this case....
