I remember distinctly, there was one classic episode, where all the three of them where given 1500 pounds and asked to get themselves Porsches. Which would then be involved in some antics through the show. I remeber JC coming up with a splendid idea of creating furniture from the car, selling it off and recovering more than the 1500 pounds he started off with.

I found that episode quite hilariously rivetting.

how the hell did i miss this one... - 24-06-2005, 10:12 AM

Man... JC is one bloody lucky brit....

Sometimes i really hate his attitude... but that chap is simply great.

He really takes on the brands and the glam cars... but respects all the good cars, infact more the understated, better is the review he gives.

I recollect one of the episodes where, he was talking about the earlier generation Opel Vectra. That car has more computing power than the Apollo 11 !!!

Have a vid, where he drags a McLaren F1 with a beefed up Skyline.

Good to see a JC fan club here on PG...

great going guys...

Bumping here we go!! - 26-06-2005, 11:36 PM

*bump* again!

This week,on Top Gear, they atoned for the sins of last week!! and thank god they were back to their original sin of speed speed and more speed...though less style i wud think!

The first car Jeremy Clarkson featured was a Maserati 350 GT, a classic car of the 70's which apparently JC admired in his youth. Then after a few cursory lines about it he promptly threw the kitchen sink at it....err..no .... he threw a 2 ton Garbage tank on it!!! Then came out this classic Maserati 250F which was one of the vintage F1 cars and actually won races in the 50's. Man that car went like a dream with drum brakes and some real antique machinery!! So antique that it cost $1,000,000. There was this story of this car in the 1956 German GP at Nurburgring got out of the pits with 22 laps to go trailing by 1 minute and the driver, Fangio clocked ten consecutive laps where he broke the lap record each time to take the lead and finally win the race!!

Then came the real deal, the Maserati NC12...ooooh!!! it was faaaaasssssssttttttt!!!! Man that was a dream...in fact the Stig broke the lap record with it at the Top Gear circuit....man that car was a dream except JC was complaining it had no rear windshield hence u cant use it...dude think of the 412000 pound price tag!!

After that came the test of the city car Toyota Aygo, apparently the smallest car Toyota sells in Europe... This is what i love about the show....They actually had a 5 a side football match with ten of these cars.....It was an amazing thing man...just the sheer audacity of it!! They actually convinced Toyota to give them 10 cars to play a game of soccer and cause some serious damage on the cars!! [they werent pussy footing either!!] and then they actually pronounce the Peugeot in the same segment a better car!!!!

The final test of the day was the Honda Element...a good lookin car and they wanted to test it in a Old peoples Club and once they decided they dont like it...it was declared a cool car!! yeah yeah they did test drive the car....i liked the doors of that car the most...funky!!!

At least their back from last weeks lows!! ....thats a relief....Go JC!!

*bump* *bump*

Where has every body gotten to? Guess what the deserters are coming up with one hour shows (just like Top Gear) this Autumn!!!!! Fifth Gear I mean. I would love to hate those rats but they are decent enough and Tiff Needle is almost as sassy as JC is

Top Gear is certainly going from strength to strength!! I wish I cud keep tabs on the timings on BBC World. Well, that not being possible, I have been doing the best thing possible; download them

Anyone in here watched the BMW M5 round up? And the off-road toys that they checked out?? Quite out of the world!!!!

cheers!!!

Of course!!!! How could you even think about me missing the review of that fanatabulous car!!!!

Tiff (btw, they call him Needles or Needle sometimes) is perhaps the best driver of them all. Barring the Stig ofcourse. I sometimes wonder who the Stig really is. Could it be Needel behind that black visor?

And why do they cut them down? Simple!!! So that I have enough reasons to download the entire program and keep it for posterity.

Check out the race betwwen the TGV and the Aston DB9 and the Scalligeti against the plane and the Swiss Railway service!!!! Absolutely out of the world!!!

There's nothing I wont do to get my hands on that Aston!!!

cheers!!!

The entire 2004 series and am putting together the 2005 series right now. The complete hour long versions they are too. Not that crappy half hour poodly oodly stuff that they let us gander at through BBC India.

Cant seem to be able to get my hands on the older series.

A trade? Sure thing But what will I be trading it for?

I have some Fifth Gear episodes too....

cheers!!!
