whoa!! JC fan club!!! - 16-05-2005, 09:34 AM

Hey,

I've just joined PG, and this place seems to be closest to heaven already. Imagine bumping into a Jeremy Clarkson fan club right here

I have watched a few episodes of Speed and Motorworld, but I feel nothing beats the on-screen chemistry JC shares with his co-hosts, James and Richard. Moreover, the degree of innovativeness that they add to each episode is mind-boggling - I distinctly remember the race between a WRC car, and that ice-luge (or whatever its called).

eh, I think she was the one who managed the circuit, and had been driving around it since she was 8...err, almost!!

I am desperately hunting for his books' soft copies, but can't find any. Any of you got some?

I also tried locating the hard copies, but they're not available either. I found 2 of them at the British Council Library, but can't find the time to make the journey to there and back. Any of you got those either?

Looking forward to a growing JC fan club

I remeber one episode where he made a gun out of some pipes and chemicals..

Wish I had recorded it, would have made my last day at the college fun!

Jeremy Clarkson is great.. I specially enjoy his sarcastic/funny analogies..

I remember an episode when he was driving this car( dono which one..) and was testing for speed .. and he said that even that car did not make seem feel safe coz this was the exact same road where the drummer for Def Leppard lost his arm....( trust me is seemed a lot funnier and apt .. when HE said it..)

DO you guys remember TIff Needle... ( he used to come on Top Gear sporadically) ...
GOSH!! i love his driving skills..
I remember there was a full episode in which his dexterity behind the wheels was demonstrated...
Jeremey clarkson asked him to drive at a specified speed and drew a line in front of the camera... He asked Tiff to approach the line with that speed and parallel park at a predecided spot... Man!!! Tiff did it.. ... HE also did a lot of 360s in a BMW Roadster in the same episode

*bump*

TOP GEAR is back on BBC ppl!! saturdays 10 pm and sundays 7 pm i think...The first show this season was amazing... A humdinger of a race between a Challenger 2 Battletank and the new LandRover Sport across a bloody swamp!!!

Needless to say the tank won! Man why cant our TV shows be this creative!! There was also a new Merc Four Door Saloon that tested out really well and an interesting tit bit about how over the past 10 years the Mercs reputation for customer satisfaction in the JD Power ratings has taken a beating in the USA.

*bump* again

You know when you have so much expectations out of something, and a lot riding on that one thing and it dont happen...it feels so disappointing.

So here i am running a thread all by myself, making a total fool of myself at times, hoping ppl wud watch what is my fave show on TV and they turn around give an absolutely ridiculous show. yup im talkin about Top Gear on BBC Saturday 10pm and sunday 7 pm

Well normally top gear is like a hollywood flick...hi tech cars, adrenalin pumping driving, great visuals and an irreverent sense of humour. But then the producers had a problem. They thought their ratings wudnt go up unless they managed to connect with the masses. The common man should think that he can drive the car ur testing...We're talkin about common men all over the globe not just the UK. So they give their 3 car reviewers 1500 pounds [Rs 1.3 lakhs] and tell em to get the car of their choice and do a show. And our men turn up with a Jag, a BMW and a Mitsubishi Starion [ the first two of the 80's and the last a 90's model]. The types u might see on the indian roads in the imported category list with their boxy looks and those which fail miserably to give even a Maruti 800 a complex.

So they do a drab show with dull cars, and every time they try to get some action the cars breakdown, leaking oil like even an Amby cudnt and the presenters try their best to laugh at their own misery. At at the end of the show two things are proven ... The English countryside does look pretty good and the BMW is the least worst of the 3 cars that were tested. Hopefully the next episode is better...hopefully

Guys im a comman man with a comman car and ive tested it inside out for nearly 5 years and ive had enough of it! plz get back to ur normal programming and give me my fantasy back!
